hold their June meeting
Monday evening at 7 at the
home of the board’s secre-
tary-treasurer, Mrs. Bea
Beatty, Route 292, Center-
moreland.
A covered dish fellow-
ship dinner will be held at
noon on Sunday, June 12,
for the congregation of the
Orange United Methodist
Church. The film,
Parable,” will be shown
and all members of the
congregation are invited to
attend.
By the way, members of
‘Orange United Methodist
Church are furthering
plans for the 150th anni-
versary celebration of the
church, which will be held
October 22-23. A souvenir
program booklet is being
planned to mark the occa-
sion. Patrons or memori-
als are available for listing
in the booklet at $3 for
single names, $5 for two
names. Malcolm Baird,
Mary Ann Sigworth are in
charge of details.
Another musical treat is
in store of area lovers of
sacred music when the
Pensacola, Fla., Christian
College Musical Ensemble
comes to Northmoreland
Baptist Church in Center-
moreland on Saturday eve-
ning, June 11, at 7. Rev.
James Howell, pastor of
the Centermoreland
Church, has extended an
invitation to area residents
to attend.
The Red Cross Bloodmo-
bile will be in Centermore-
land on Friday, June 10,
from noon to 5 at the
Centermoreland UM
Church annex. Plasma is
badly needed and the
appeal is urgent.
Plans are being com-
pleted for two area Daily
Vacation Bible Schools - at
Mount Zion United Meth-
odist Church from June 20-
24 from 9 to noon, and at
the Orange UM Church
from June 27 through July
1' from 9:30 to noon daily.
The Orange VBS will also
be for children of the
Carverton UM Church.

patient at Nesbitt Memo-
rial Hospital presstime.

press included Mrs. Mary
Sickler of Orange, who
was at the NPW Hospital
in Plains, and Mrs. Julia
Bruno of Mount Zion, who
was a patient at the John
Heinz Institute in Wilkes-
Barre.

MRS. P. DELANEY
Mrs. Peter T. Delaney,
79, of Lakeside Drive, Har-
veys Lake, died May 24 in
Nesbitt Memorial Hospi-
tal.
Surviving are a son,
Edwin R., Dallas; daugh-
ter, ‘Mrs. Thomas Garrity,
Harveys Lake; six grand-
children; three great-
granddaughters; brothers,
Joseph, Harveys Lake and
Walter, Forty Fort.
Funeral was Friday at
11 from the Harold C.
Snowdon Funeral Home,
140 N. Main St., Shaver-
town, with Rev. William
W. Kennard, pastor of the
Alderson United Methodist
Church, officiating. Inter-
ment in Kitchen Cemetery,
Harveys Lake.
MICHAEL CHUKINAS
of Upper Demunds Road,
Dallas died May 21 in
North Shore Hospital,
Miami, Fla., where he had
been a patient for seven
weeks.
Born in Luzerne, he was
the son of the late Stephen
and Agnes Chukinas.
Surviving are his wife,
Joseph, Orlando,
Fla., and Michael, Vir-
ginia Beach, Va.; daugh-
ters, Mrs. Rosemary
Pensyl, Santa Barbara,
Calif.; Mrs. Theresa Pav-
lick, Dublin, Calif. and
Mrs. Dolores Schwartz,
Miami, Fla.; brothers,

David K. Gordon, 12, of
RD 2, Harveys Lake, died
Saturday, May 21 in
Wilkes-Barre General Hos-
pital from injuries he
received May 13, after the
bicycle he was riding’ was
struck by a car.
