Recently members spent time making crepe paper daf- fodils, the national flower of Wales, to be given to all visitors at the festival. Over 3,000 Welsh people are expected to come to Wilkes-Barre on Labor Day weekend for a week- end of ‘‘Social and Song.” The festivities will include a banquet, tours and visits around the area, a Billin- gual Service and a choral event on Sunday after- noon. : Two of the club mem- bers are on the hospitality committee and are being kept very busy already. They are Jean Duda who immigrated with her mother as a teenager and met and married an Amer- ‘ican. Her mother and her two grown up children live in Dallas, but she still visits Wales whenever she can. Another Welsh immi- grant is Meryl Davis, to whom English is a second language. She is married to Windsor Davis of Har- veys Lake. Her mother is still living in Wales but has been over here for extended visits.Meryl and her children have been “home” many times.
