FIRE SAFETY: Red Chapman, chief of security at the NPW Medical Center
in Plains Township, recently presented a fire safety lecture and demonstra-
tion at the Meadows Apartments in Dallas.
Residents of the apartments, comprised of senior citizens and the
handicapped, participated in a mock fire drill which included their use of a
fire extenguisher. The lecture covered such topics as, ‘Safety in the
Apartment,‘ ‘Exiting the Building in Case of a Fire,’ and ‘What Makes Fire
Burn?
Mr Chapman is shown explaining the use of a fire extinguisher.
Rededication
Rededication of the
Carverton United Method-
ist Church will be held
Sunday at the 9 a.m. wor-
ship service.
The special service will
mark the competion of
improvements at the
church, including new
siding and other improve-
ments. Among the new
donations by church mem-
bers in memory of
deceased family members
will be a candlelighter
presented in memory of
the late Herman Coon and
a new cross fro the front of
the church donated in
memory of the late
Howard ‘Bud’ Edwards.
Rev. Dr. Allan Cease,
pastor, will officiate at the
special serice. Refresh-
ments will follow in the
church social rooms.

Church School at a meet-
ing last week set the dates
for the upcoming Vacation
Bible School. The VBS will
be held evenings from 6:30
to 8:30 starting June 20
and continuing through
June 30. It also was

Ladies Society of St.
Luke’s Church held its
annual mother-daughter
party last Wednesday eve-
ning in the parish hall. A
feature of this year’s
affair was a display of
original homemade and
hand decorated hats worn
by the women. Prizes were
awarded.

roller skating party Satur-
day with a nice attendance
by the children.
