Sordoni, III reported first quarter 1983 earnings per share of $1.01, compared to $.60 for the first quarter of 1982. CTE’s total revenues and sales in the first quarter of 1983 were $23,640,000, reflecting an improvement of 19.9 percent over total revenues and sales of $19,723,000 in the first quarter of 1982. The board of directors authorized a cash divi- dend of $.35 per common share payable May 25 to shareholders of record on May 11. William B. Sordoni was appointed Vice Chair- man by unanimous action of the board. He is President and Chief Executive Officer of Sterling Industrial Corp. in Forty Fort. === Because of declining bond interest rates, Luz- erne County and its investment banker are studying the feasibility of refunding the county’s 1982 $7,000,000 prison bond issue. J.M. Revie & Co. and First Eastern Bank are serving as investment bankers for this refunding. Budget Director Tom Lavin, Chief Clerk P.J. Clarke and Solicitor Ralph J. Johnston have been instructed by the commissioners to work closely with the investment banker so that their analysis can be quickly completed and, if justified, the new bonds issued before interest rates start rising again. Presently, rates are at their lowest point in three years and are expected to start upward by late summer. se Rn - 4 B® 7 The bond issue is part of an $11,000,000 prison renovation project and the initial stages of the construction have begun.
