Murphy, dean of student affairs at the Wilkes-Barre campus of the Pennsylvania State University, participated in a panel presentation at the annual conference of the National Association of Student Personnel Admin- istrators held recently in Toronto, Canada. The presentation, enti- tled ‘Developing a Pro- gram for Personal and Professional Vitality: For Yourself and Your Staffs,” was first presented as an internal program for Penn State student personnel administrators to help develop individual and col- lective plans of action for No. 6 avoiding stress and pre- venting burnout. Since then, it has been presented at other professional meet- ings, including the Penn- sylvania personnel and Guidance Association, a group of high school and college guidance counse- lors, which met in Lancas- ter. Murphy has been dean of student affairs at the Penn State-Wilkes-Barre campus since 1967. Before then, he was assistant to the dean of student affairs at Penn State’s Ogontz campus. He received his B.S. degree in political science from Marietta College in 1963 and his M.S. degree in counseling from the Uni- versity of Bridgeport in 1966. He resides in Dallas with his wife, Shawn, and daughters, Kathleen, a Penn State-Wilkes-Barre student, Jennifer, and Brennan. -~0-- Dr. John W.
