lent rating and Indoor
Drum Major went to Lake-
Lehman’s John Headman,
this was a special award.
Ocean City’s Convention
Hall was the setting for all
indoor competitions, with
Salisbury State College
hosting the field show
event.

L-L Girls
Lake -Lehman’s Lady
Knights used a 10-run first
inning in a game against
West Side Tech to clinch a
17-3 win over the Lady
Titans. The win ran their
season league record to 4-0
in softball play.
Lake-Lehman hurler
Kelly Siglin relieved Jill
Solinski on the mound
after the top half of the
first inning and took credit
for the win. Pam Solinski
playing centerfield batted
in three runs, second base-
man Sue Bonsavage added
two RBI's and shortstop
Kim Fey drove in a run.
Chris Wasculis also con-
tributed to the Lady
Knights scoring with two
runs batted in.
Dallas Girls
Dallas girls’ softball play
ers handed Meyers its first
loss 19-9 last week behind
two -home runs by Kathy
Walsh, one in the second
and the other in the sixth
inning.
Walsh drove in two runs
in the second and three in
the sixth inning (which
ended the game under the
league's 10-run rule). The
Lady Mountaineers
knocked out 22 hits with
six players collecting three
each.
Combining with Walsh
for three hits each were
Sandi Shone, Sheri Ciccar-
elli, Julie Adams, Theresa
Baseski and Chris
Dombek. Adams drove out

a three-bagger and
Baseski and Dombek
added doubles. ;
Sandi Shone did the
mount work for Dallas for
the first two innings but
Julie Adams came in as
relief and -picked up the

The Lady Mounts went
ahead 3-0 early in the
game but the Mohawks’
Marg Serafini hit a three
run homer in the second to
tie it up 3-3 and Diane
Shields added two on a
double before the Dallas
girls broke loose to win 19-
9 and drop Meyers to 5-1.
Dallas’ record stands at 5-
9
Dallas Boys
Dallas = Mountaineers
outhit the Coughlin Cru-
saders 15-11 but lost 15-13
due to errors. The Moun-
taineer pitchers were the
victims of six errors,
which resulted in several
unearned Crusader runs.
Dallas eommitted five
errors in the sixth inning
to allow Coughlin to score
five runs.
Tim Grove, eight-for-
nine for the Mountaineers,
starred at home plate driv-
ing out a triple to score
Dave Thomas, who hit a
single, and Matt Medura,
who took base on a walk.
Jerry Rollman hit a two-
run triple for Dallas in the
third frame.
The Dallas Mountaineers
are 1-4, having lost four
consecutive games despite
scoring 44 runs.
L-L Boys
West Side Titans downed
Lake-Lehman 7-4 recently
to pick up their first win of
the season. Tom Kachmar-
ski and Paul Foglietta hit
homeruns in the first
inning.
The Titans scored four
runs in the first inning
sending 10 batters across
home plate. Al Strish, Stan
Kotalski and Tony Orlando
hit singles off pitcher Al
Michaels to load the bases
then Kachmarski followed
with a single to send in
two runs.
Jim Martin hit another
single and scored Orlando.
The final run of the inning
came on walks to Jim Lutz
and Foglietta. A third con-
secutive walk scored
Kachmarski.
Lake-Lehman scored
runs in the second, fourth
and fifth innings, one of
the runs coming off .T.
Yoniski’s lone homer.

Bishop Hoban kept its
win record intact at 7-0.
last Monday by defeating
Lake-Lehman 6-4. The
Knights did not give up
easy and kept the Argents
busy saving the win.
The Argents took a 3-0
lead in the third inning
and added a fourth run in
broke it open in the bottom
of the sixth to score four
runs and tie it up at 4-all.
Hoban’s J. Kashmer
pitched five innings with-
out giving up a hit and
first baseman K. Graham
hit a three-run homer to
clinch the game for the
Argents.
In the sixth inning the
Knights rallied when T.
Willy Cadwalader led off
with a single. Chris Wargo
drove a triple to center
field to bat in Cadwalader.
Tom Davis went to first on
a walk and Tom Yoniski
hit a double to bring in
Wargo.
Scott Crispell knocked in
Davis with a single then E.
Weidner brought in Henry
and Yoniski. The umpire
called Henry out, saying
he didn’t touch the base,
then Crispell was tagged
out at third base to dash
the hopes of the fans.
Michaels gave up only
Six hits, giving up only two
hits with two out in the top
of the seventh.
The game was supposed
to be played on the
Knights’ field but was
moved to the Coal Street
Park because of the local
school’s field condition.
In a‘tri-meet with Tunk-
hannock and Nanticoke
Area, Lake-Lehman’s
cinder girls went down 131-
10 to the Tigers and 105-36
to the Trojans. In an ear-
lier’ “/meet;" the Lady
Knights were defeated 110-
30 by Pittston Area.
In the meet with Tunk-

hannock, the only girl to
come in first was Mills in
the 200m dash. Mills also
tied for third in the 300IM
hurdles and Austin came
in third in the 1600m run.
The Knights’ Judge came
in third in the 3200m run
and Michaels placed third
in the high jump.

The Lady Knights fared
a little better against the
Trojans with Mills taking
first in the 100m- hurdles,
Janusz taking the 300IM
hurdles, Mills copping the
200m dash, Judge the
3200m run and Michaels
the high jump.
Placing in the Nanticoke
Area meet were Spencer,
100m dash; Dragon 400m
dash; Judge and Williams,
800m run; Spencer, 200m
dash; Austin, 3200m run
and 1600m run, Kishkill
long jump.
In the Pittston meet, the
Lady Knights had Mills
taking a first in the 100m
hurdles. Other girls who
placed second or third
were Sorber; 1600m run;
Mills, 200m dash; Judge,
3200m run; Janusz, discus;
Kuschke, long jump; Sca-
vone, javlin; Sorber and
Michaels, high jump.
Youth Soccer ‘has
become a popular sport in
this area. In response -to
the growing enthusiasm,
the Wilkes-Barre Campus
of Penn State is sponsoring
the Back Mountain Youth
Soccer Day Camp from
June 27 to July 1 on the
Lehman campus.
The soccer camp is for
boys and girls agest 6
through 14 and will be
noon for ages 6 to 10.
Session: 2,01. p.m. to 4:30
p.m. for ages 11 to 14:
Karly, registration for
the soccer day camp is
advised and should be
completed by May 27. To
