quarters, Pennsylvania State Police, Harrisburg.

Sheriff’s Department (825-1657, 825-1653), the District
Attorney’s office (825-1674, 825-1675) or the Luzerne
County Communications Center and furnish the name of
your department and the number of persons attending.
Mother-Daughter Banquet
The annual Mother-Daughter Banquet at Huntsivlle
Christian Church has been scheduled for May 5 at 6 p.m.
This special dinner celebrates the familial Hes among a
number of church women.
This year’s program will be presented by: Wiiong, &
female quartet from Nanticoke which sings Christian as
well as secular music. The music includes solos and
duets as well as readings from scripture and other
sources.

Vietnam Vets Meet
Veterans of the Vietnam War, Post 2, will meet
Thursday, May 5, at8 p.m. at the Coral Lounge, 245 Owen
St., Swoyersville. A film on Vietnam will be shown, and
Veterans of the Vietnam War is a full service organiza-
tion open to all veterans.
Society Meets
The Glenn Miller Society, Branch 4, Northeastern Pa.,
will meet Friday, May 6 at the Plains American Legion
Post at 7:30 p.m. Final plans will be made for the 14th:
May 13 at the Genetti Best Western Motor Inn in Wilkes-
Barre. ;

Chicken Bar-B-Que
semi-annual Trustee Chicken Bar-B-Que on Friday, May
6 and Saturday, May 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Educa-
tional Building, Church Rd. and Knob Hill, Trucksville.
Menu will include chicken, potato, cole slaw, vege-
table, roll-butter, dessert and beverage.
Donations for the Bar-B-Que are $4.50 for adults’ and
$2.50 for children. Reservations are suggested and can be
‘made by calling the following persons by Thursday, May

Concert
i The Jacobs Brothers of Dillsburg will present a concert
of sacred music at the Dallas Baptist Church, Rte. 415,
Idetown, on Sunday evening, May 8 at 7 p.m.
Pastor Danny White and the congregation of Dallas
Baptist invites the surrounding communities to join with
them for this evening of inspired gospel music.
Bible Film
The third and last in a series of films on Bible prophecy
Image of the Beast, a powerful motion picture about the
Great Tribulation period predicted in the Bible, will be
shown on Sunday, May 8 at the Mooretown Assembly of
God Church, Route 1, Sweet Valley, at 7 p.m.
This intense, 90 minute drama depicts the stark
realities of the sufferings to be undergone by those alive
during the years of tribulation.
The intensity of this fast-moving drama will grip
viewers as God’s Word is revealed. It is a hard-hitting
movie with an impact that cannot be forgotten. Rev.
Kenneth Boston, pastor, invites you to attend this
showing.
Slide Show
Andrea Morresi and Roberto Boto, AFS exchange
students, will present a slide show on their respective.
countries onMay8,8 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church,
Shavertown.
Mr. Morresi is from Italy and Mr. Boto from Argen-
tina. The program is presented free of charge and the
public is cordially invited to attend and enjoy the sights
of these beautiful countries.
Concert
College Misericordia will present soprano Suk Soon
Kim in concert May 8 at 3 p.m. in the College’s Walsh
Auditorium. The concert is one of a series of Cultural
Events Programs offered by College Misericordia. The
public is invited to attend, free of charge.

Nurses Meet
The Northeastern Pennsylvania League of Licensed
Practical Nurses will hold its monthly meeting Tuesday,
May 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Treadway Inn, Scranton. Mrs.
Mary Murphy will speak on the Miracle of Regaining her
Sight.
School Board Meets
The regular monthly meeting of the Lake-Lehman
Board of School Directors will be held on Tuesday, May
10,at 8 p.m. in the auditorium of the Lake-Lehman Senior
High School, Lehman. Kenneth A. Williams, president,
will preside.
Hamilton Speaks
The Kunkle United Methodist Church will present a
program on May 19, 7:30 p.m. featuring Mr. Stan
Hamilton, the director of the Shepherd of the Streets
Ministry in Wilkes-Barre, as the guest speaker.
Mr. Hamilton will discuss the scope and outreach of the
Shepherd of the Streets program and also how in-
ministry.
The public is welcome to attend this event. There will
be a free-will offering received during the evening in
support of the SOS ministry.
Model Competition
The upcoming Northern Pennsylvania’s Model of 83
Competition will be held on May 28 in the center of the
Wyoming Valley Mall.
The pageant is open to girls ages 5 to 25. Contestants"
will be featured modeling outfits from their own ward-
robe, they will also be asked to submit a photograph for a
separate Miss Photogenic judging. Winners will be
chosen Northern Pennsylvania’s ‘Model of 83’’ in three
age groups, and will go on to state division. All winners
weill be invited to appear at the upcoming Miss Northern
Pennsylvania Pageant.
Young ladies interested in competing for the title can
signup at the Wyoming Valley Mall on Saturday, May 14,
at the pageant booth in front of Elby’s or write to:
