Friday afternoon to lead
the Lady Knights to a 9-0
shutout over the
Crusaders. She went 6 and
one third innings before
Coughlin’s Janice Shed-
lock hit a single with one
out in the top of the
seventh.
Solinski also struck out
nine and walked only six
as her team members
used a total of 16 stolen
bases to top their oppo-

Walsh signed a letter of
intent for Kent State
University, Friday, in the
faculty lounge of Dallas
High School. The 59”
cager, who scored 1,700
career points to help the
Lady Mounts post a 25-6
record this season, said
guaranteed playing time
during her freshman year
played a major role in her
decision to attend Kent.
The daughter.of Mr. and
Mrs. Paul Walsh of
Dallas, Kathy will change
her playing position at
Kent State from guard to
either swingman or point
with Kent's Lady Flashes.
Her overall ability on
the court earned Kathy a
full scholarship in excess
of $5,000 covering tuition,
room and board, books
and out of state fees. The
Dallas senior is ready to
start working hard and is
planning a regimen of
training including
nautilus workouts and
summer play with the
