Seldom is the public told about the teenagers who spend their free time helping people or im- proving the area in which they live. Many of these kids can be found in high school Key Clubs. Key Clubs were started in California in 1925. They have since spread to the rest of the United States, Canada, and nine other countries. They are among the world’s largest high school public service organizations with 105,000 Key Club members in 3,600 high schoools. Pennsylania’s first Key Club was started in 1936 at a high school in Elwood City. There are now 146 clubs in the state. They are all sponsored by Kiwanis Clubs. The clubs were once all male organizations, but in 1977, the rule was changed so that girls could join. Many r.ow hold significant office positions. Beth Brader is a senior at Lake-Lehman High School, and is presidnet of its Key Club. She and the other members of the club have been working very hard to make this year a productive one for the school and community. fy BE BN EN EN Em @uodno)@ HE CARVEL: CORPORATION 1983 Deadline Noon Friday READ THIS UNLEASHING HUMAN POTENTIAL.. The Life Improvement Center is concerned with the reestablishment of the normal relationship between the spinal bones and the nerve system, with the ultimate objective of helping each individual to more fully express all of life’s potentials - to become all that she or he could be. Weare talking about your human potential. Every expression of human poten- tial-physical,mental,emotional, sensory extra-sensory, has its roots in the brain, (the master control system of the body). Each of the billions of cells is controlled and coordinated by the brain and spinal cord to result in an integrated whole. The Central nervous system - the brain and spinal cord - is sa vital to life that nature has encased it in the bony protection of the skull with 24 moveable segmen- ts known as vertebrae. When the normal relatiopship of the bones of the spine is disturbed, the proper function of the nerves which pass between them from the brain to the rest of the body is impaired. This results in discoordination of body chemistry, causing structural, chemical, mental and emotional imbalances, and the ultimate loss of overall potential. Human potential is so vast, it defies imagination which itself is but one small expression of our capabilities. A visit to the LIFE IMPROVEMENT CENTER can start you on your way to a more fulfilling and healthier lifestyle that can be adapted to a permanent lifetime change in habits and attitudes. Center hours will be Mon.,Wed. and Fri. 10:00 to 3:00 and 5:00 to 8:00. Tues. and Thurs. 10:00 to 5:00. Sat. hours will be by appointment only. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO DROP INTO THE CENTER ANYTIME DURING THE WEEK. As always there is never a charge for a consultation and explanation of what the LIFE IMPROVEMENT CENTER can offer, Age is no barrier, as it is our philosophy that you are never too young nor too old to learn a better way of life.
