PAGE EIGHT Friends of Rev. Jacob Victor, pastor of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church at Noxen, will be glad to learn he came home Thursday after a four-day stay at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Other area residents who are recuperating at home after being patients at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital are Mrs. Tyyne Anderson of Beaumont and John Jones of Noxen. Miss Mindy Heppe, an MLC Intern, was the guest speaker at Sunday’s wsorship service in St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. An Ecumenical Lenten Service for area folk will be held tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. in the Bowmans Church where Rev. Donald Baker is pastor. Pastor Jacob Victor of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church of Noxen will be the guest speaker. Clasmates class of Noxen United Methodist Church will meet Friday evening at the church. Members will receive a report on the ‘St. Patrick’s Irish Fair’ held Friday evening. Members of Noxen United Methodist Church will have a covered dish dinner in the church social rooms following the morning worship service Sunday. Junior Choir of Noxen UM Church will rehearse tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. Program committee of Kunkle UM Church will meet this evening at 7 at the church. United Methodist Women of Noxen UM Church will sponsor a benefit rummage and bake sale at the church on Friday from 10 to 4 p.m. Lunch will be available. Rev. Dave Morgan, well-known throughout the area, is recovering following surgery. The other candidate for the post, Denis Jacob, will be guest preacher at the April 10 service. Belated anniversary greetings are extended to Mary and Walter Galka, who observed their wedding anniversary on Saturday. Birthday greetings also are ex- tended to Sandy Rice, who observed her birthday on March 14, and to Mrs. Mary Galka, who marked another milestone on March 19. Communion will be administered at the morning worship service on Palm Sunday in St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Communion also will be administered in St. Luke’s Church on Easter Sunday morning. ? Some activities scheduled for Noxen Independent Bible Church for the next week include the following: tomorrow - men will attend fellowship at the Blomingdale Baptist Church Friday - teen basketball practice; Saturday - Sord of Life basketball marathon; March 27 - Easter muscial program; March 30 at 7:30 - annual Church business meeting. Rev. Jerry Tallent is pastor of Noxen Independent Bible Church. George Charney, RD 5, Dallas, was admitted to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital on Thursday as a medical patient. Plans are underway for an Easter sunrise service at Northmoreland Baptist Church in Centermore- land, Rev. James Howell, pastor, has announced. Michelle Lee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David and Christine Turk, was baptized at the worship service on March 6 in Dymond Hollow United Methodist Church. Sixth in the series of special Sunday evening Lenten services for members of the three United Methodist Churches of the Center- moreland UM Charge, will be held Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in the East Dallas Walter, pastor, will preach on ‘Conversation Between Mary and John!” Mrs. Margaret Cool- baugh of Dymond ‘Hollow was a medical patient in Nesbitt Memorial Hospital, Kingston, at press time. Flowers on the altar for services in East Dallas UM Church were placed there by Mr. and Mrs. Russell Siley in memory of their late son, Charles. David Rich, regional representative of the headquartered in Schroon Lake, N.Y., was the guest speaker at the Sunday evening service in North- moreland Baptist Church. Girl Scout Sunday was observed with a special service in Carverton UM Church. Harry Sickler of Orange and Willard Keiper of Mount Zion both are home after stays at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Hank Rowlands, Dana Race and Andy Steransky represented ~~ Northmor- eland Baptist Church of Centermoreland at the Messengers meeting Saturday at the Baptist Bible High School in Clarks Summit. Tomorrow evening, a delegation of men from Northmoreland Baptist Church will join with other Baptist men of the region for the Men’s Fellowship at the Bloomingdale Bible Church.
