Children from kindergarten to Kathryn Gregory, a science teacher at Lake- Lehman Junior-Senior High School, recently captured a .$3,500 grant from the state Depart- ment of Education. This grant, one of 194 awarded throughout the state, enables Lake- Lehman to acquire a highly sophisticated tele- “scope, which will be used to enhance various studies of sky phenomenon. Ms. Gregory’s proposal was selected from 1,206 sub- mitted by various teachers throughout the Commonwealth. In addition to the tele- scope, the grant will allow for the provision of photo- graphic facilities to be used in conjunction with it. This combination of technology will allow astronomy students to photograph sky pheno- menon and use the developed photographs for intensive individual and group study. Nicholas, principal of Lake- Lehman, praised Ms. Gregory’s efforts: “In every sense of the word Ms. Gregory is a master teacher.
