    The Shavertown Branch of the Nesbitt Memorial
Hospital Auxiliary will meet on Wednesday, March9, at 1
p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
The meeting will accommodate those auxilians who
were unable to attend the regular monthly gathering due
to the “World Day of Prayer’ services on March 4.
Any interested resident of the Back Mountain area who
would like to assist in the branch’s special puppet
program is invited to a special work session, which will
beheld prior to the meeting at 10 a.m. Skills required for
puppetry are sewing, tracing, and cutting of patterns.

Tax Hours Slated
Kingston Twp. Tax Collector, Janice Castellani an-
nounces the following hours at the Wyoming National
Bank, Shavertown, for the convenience of the taxpayes:

Ambulance Assn. Meets
Jackson Twp. Ambulance Association monthly
meeting will be held on March 10, at 7:30 p.m. Edward
Havrilla will preside.
Vets Group to Meet
Veterans of the Vietnam War, Post 2, will meet
Thursday, March 10, at 8 p.m., at the Coral Lounge, 245
Owen St., Swoyersville.
A film on Vietnam will be shown. The Veterans of the
Vietnam War is a full service organization open to all
veterans. 7
Design Program
Anne Postupack, interior designer at Cameo, The
House of Living Ideas, 933 Wyoming Ave., West Pittston
plans an interesting and informative program on con-
temporary design trends.
A slide presentation featuring a number of pro-
fessionally-designed room settings and vignettes will be
shown, with explanations as to the concepts of color func-
tions and design within the settings. Also, some attention
will be given to expanding small spaces and creating
multi-purpose rooms. A question and answer period will
also be held.
The presentation will take place on Thursday, March
10 at the Castle Restaurant, sponsored by the Dallas
Federated Woman's Club.
Tax Assistance
Personnel from the Pennsylvania Department of
Revenue will be at the Kingston Twp. Municipal Building
on Friday, March 11, from 8:30 a.m, to 4 p.m. to help
those individuals who need assistance in filling out
Pennsylvania income tax forms. The elderly will also
receive help in filling out property tax and rent rebate
forms. Bring tax receipts and any other necessary in-
formation.

‘Showcase’ Play Set
Opening performance of “Butterflies Are Free” by
Showcase II Productions of Rafael’s Dinner-Theater is
set for Friday, March 11 at 405 Market St., Kingston.
Curtain will be at 8 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m.
Subsequent performances of the comedy by Leonard
Gershe will follow on Saturday and Sunday at8 p.m., plus
the following two weekends, March 18-20 and 25-27.
Matinee performances are scheduled for Sunday
March 20 and 27 with curtain at 2 p.m. and dinner at
noon. Reservations for all performances canbe made by
writing or calling the theater site, 405 Market St.,
Kingston and or Mrs. Charles Hensley, 146 Madison St.,
Wilkes-Barre. Show only and group rates also are avail-
able for the performances of ‘Butterflies Are Free’.
Legion Information
The Pennsylvania American Legion will have
available a service officer at its traveling booth to be set
up at the Wyoming Valley Mall, Wilkes-Barre, Friday
and Saturday, March 11-12. The professionally-trained
service officer will be on hand to help all veterans and
their dependents or survivors with service claims or
related problems. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. both
days. Informational pamphlets on Legion membership
and the organization’s various programs also will be
available. Past Department Vice Commander Dale
Sprenkle of Dallastown is in charge of the booth’s current
tour.
Craft, Bake Bazaar
Maple Grove United Methodist Church is holding a
craft and bake bazaar on Friday, March 11, 9 a.m. to 9
p.m. and Saturday, March 12, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The church is located on Sweet Valley Road near the
intersection of Routes 118 and 29.
Slide Show Slated
“Journey into the Appalchians” will be presented
Sunday, March 13 at 2:30 p.m. in the Everhart Museum
by the Sierra Club of Northeastern Pennsylvania:
This professional slide-sound presentation by Jim
Yeich of New Milford was produced from four summers
hiking the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine.
Softball Signup Set
The Back Mountain Women’s Softball League will hold
a reorganization meeting Monday, March 14, at 7:30
p.m. at the American Legion Post 762, Memorial High-
way, Dallas. :
All teams are asked to send a team representative.
Any new teams interested in joining this league are
asked to attend this meeting or call 675-6445.
La Leche League
On Tuesday, March 15, the Back Mountain East La
Leche League will meet at 10 a.m. in the home of Mrs.
John Vaida, Shavertown. The art of breastfeeding and
overcoming difficulties will be discussed.
All'women interested in breastfeeding are invited to
attend; nursing babies and toddlers are always welcome.

Card Party Slated
The Annual St. Patrick's Day Card Party sponsored by
the Dorranceton Branch of the Nesbitt: Memorial
Hospital Auxiliary, will be held on Friday, March 11.
The event will convene at 1 p.m .in the third floor
lounge of the Medical Arts Building adjacent to the
hospital on Wyoming Avenue. Itis open to the public. Due
to the large number expected, the branch recommends
that each participant bring their own cards.

Meeting Switched
The Board of School Directors of the Lake-Lehman
School District has changed its regular March meeting
from the second Tuesday of the month to the third
Tuesday, March 15.
Elementary School, Harveys Lake. This change applies
only to the month of March.

Ballet set March 15
The Oakland Ballet will perform at the Scranton
Masonic Temple on Tuesday, Mar. 15 at 8 p.m. The full-
length classical ballet, “Coppelia’’ will be presented
under the auspices of the University of Scranton Concert
and Theatre Series. This is the fourth program of their
current season.
Tickets may be purchased by mail or directly from Dr.
Njegos M. Petrovic, chairman of the series. Mail
requests to St. Thomas Hall, Room 357 or telephone 961-
7778 from 4 to 6 p.m. The Masonic Temple box office will
begin selling tickets on March 7 from noon to 5 p.m.
daily. Paperback Booksmith, Viewmont Mall and
Gallery of Sound, Wyoming Valley Mall will also have
tickets available.
Seats are reserved and priced at $10, $9, $8 with a $4
reduction for children, students and senior citizens at the
Masonic Temple box office.
St. Pat’s Celebration
Gate of Heaven School Parents Teachers Guild is
sponsoring a St. Patrick’s Day celebration on March 19,
at the Gate of Heaven auditorium.
There will be a hot buffet served at 8:30 p.m. and
dancing by the Starfires from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Tickets are $20 per couple and may be purchased at the
Hoagie Bar or reservations may be made by calling

Firemen’s Meeting
Back Mountain Firemen’s meeting will be held at Mt.
Zion Fire Hall on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 8 p.m.
The association will hold its annual installation dinner
on March 19 at the Franklin Twp. Fire Hall. Contact any

Widows Club
The Back Mountain Widows Club will meet at the
Trucksville UME Church on Saturday, March 19, at 12:30
p.m.

Easter Art Show
Gallery of Arts, Pittston, will present its annual Easter
and religious art exhibition as a public service to the
community on the occasion of Lenten and Easter Season.
The exhibit will feature decorated Easter eggs;
religious paintings and sculptures and will run on
weekends from March 19 to April 2. i
Egg decorating artists, painters and sculptors of
religious subjects as well as collectors of religious art are
cordially invited to particpate. :

Band Concert
The famous Notre Dame Band will appear in concert,
Saturday, March 19, at King’s College Gymnasium at
