She is the former Margart Krakosky and came from a large fine family. She is the mother of John “The Baker” Novak of Main Street, Swoyersville and a daughter Mrs. Mary Fine of Linden, N.J. She is also survived by 11 brothers and sisters from various sections of the country. Sty has a neat yard and one of the finest gardens around. =0- Plans are underway for the 40th anniversary reunion by the Class of 1943 Swoyersville High School, on July 1, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Luzerne, with cocktail hour, dinner following, and music for dancing. Invitations have been mailed and the class has invited the Class of 1942 to join with them in the next meeting on Wednesday, at Shanky’s Cafe on Hughes Street, Swoyersville. -0- Chairman Max Konopka of the Swoyers- ville Police Community Ambulance Drive an- nounced that the annual drive is now underway, until July. He said the cards and envelopes have been mailed to each resident and he, along with his committee, would appreciate it if everyone helps, as they have done in the past. The faculty of Wyoming Valley West High School recently announced the selection of Stanley Gavlick as ‘‘student of the month” for February, a program sponsored by the Kingston-Forty Fort Lions Club. A member of the senior class, Stanley is listed in Who’s Who of American High School Students and. currently serves as president of the Student Council. Stan is also a member of the National Honor Society and Spartan wrestling team. He has served on the staffs of the ‘“West Side Story’ and Spartan Year- book. After graduation, Stanley plans to attend Villanova University to follow a program of studies in Mechanical Engineering. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Gavlick, Swoyersville. The new Swoyersville organization was recently accepted as a member of the Pittston Teeners League and will play against the teams of the Greater Pittston area on a home and away basis.
