Why trust your once-in-
a-lifetime wedding day to a
once-in-a-while photogra-
pher. To get a treasured
collection of wedding pho-
tographs, select a seasoned
professional who has mas-
tered the art of recreating a
wedding day story in pic-
tures. After the flowers
have wilted, it’s too late to
restage the event if the pic-
tures were disappointing.
Finding a professional
photographer who under-
stands your special needs
takes a little effort. Begin
your search early in the
planning stages of your
wedding, particularly if you
plan to marry during the
peak seasons of May/June
or November/ December.
Sources of information
A good place to start is
with newly married friends
and relatives. The Yellow
Pages of your local tele-
phone directory is also a
good source of information.
Once you have compiled
your list of potential candi-
dates, you'll need to make
an appointment to visit
each studio to survey recent
work and discuss cost and
special packages available.
According to a recent sur-
vey, fees generally range
from $175 to $350.
Since there are signifi-
cant differences in the qual-
ity of photographs, be sure
to ask if the photographer
uses Kodak paper for con-
sistent, high-quality prints.
Advance planning
Once you've chosen
your photographer, sit
down and discuss all your
plans and special needs.
Ask advice on hair styles
and makeup, the location of
your photo session (some
couples like to have their
portraits made outdoors)

A WEDDING OR SHOWER GIFT doesn’t have to be
expensive to be welcomed. A gift that is both beautiful and
functional and that will be used over and over again is a set
of servers in gleaming silverplate. These eight inch styles
from Landes Marketing have bamboo style handles for
easy manipulation. They come in a variety of shapes that
make them especially suitable for such specific serving
functions as (left to right) for service of salad, cake and
meatballs. Some general service uses include for hot or
cold sliced meats, lasagna or quiche, asparagus, string
beans or other vegetables.
