Friends of Mrs. Agnes Gashi of West Wyoming honored her at a birthday dinner on Saturday evening, Feb. 5, when she observed a birthday anniversary. Richard Pavlovec of Manor Drive was coming along nicely at presstime in Nesbitt Memorial Hospital, Kingston, where he underwent surgery on Thursday. Dr. John Mandley, Lake Louise dentist, was a patient at Wilkes-BAare General Hospital at presstime. Mrs. Ann Scoble, Carverton Heights, was reported as improved at Mrs. Harvey (Ida) Thornton of Kunkle is a medical patient in Wilkes- Barre General Hospital. United Methodist Women of Kunkle UM Church are planning a Welsh cookie sale for Feb. 28-March 1 at the Kunkle fire hall. The UM Women will bake cookies on those days from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. when orders should be picked up. Orders should be placed with any member of the UM Women’s Group by Feb. 21 or can be called to Mrs. Ray Henney 675-1915; 3159 or Mrs. Fred Dodson 675-1514. Kunkle Fire Company is conducting an ad- vanced first aid course of study at the fire company hall on Tuesday and Thursday evenings during February and March. All, who registered by Feb. 29 received a free, Sweetheart corsage. Rev. Mr. Olsen, who was the principal at Monday’s banquet, is the speaker on the radio program: ‘Impact For Living.’ Music at the banquet was by Elliott and Jean Ackerly of the School at Johnson City, N.Y: A score of members of Noxen Independent Bible Church were among the group of members from more than a score of churches that partici- pated in ‘Snow Camp’ during a recent weekend at Schroon Lake, N.Y. The Noxen group placed third in the various competitions.
