Thomas and Ed Gorey set

its first game of the
second half when they lost
61-53 to Seton Catholic.
In a close and exciting
game, the Lady Knights
took a 19-18 first quarter
lead but the Eaglettes
rallied in the second
period to go in front 31-29
at half time.
Gail Austin and Kim
Fey did some key
Lake-Noxen
the pace with 17 points
each. Dave Thomas and
Tim Grove contributed 16
points each.
The two Thomases and
Grove combined for 20 of
the Mounts 26 points in the
first quarter while they
were holding the Titans to
only five. Both teams
played even in the second

long jump shot to tie the
score but Mozal came
back with two baskets for
four points. Jill Solinski
put in two through the
nets but that was it for the
Lady Knights as Seton
played key defense and
held their opponents while
Soy and Mozal combined
for 11 of Seton’s 15 points.
The Lake-Lehman girls
rallied in the final period
and came within four
points with less than a
shutout over the Lynx.
The Firebirds took 3%
from the Mustangs while
K. Spencer’s 541 paced the
Aries to three points from
the Cimarrons.

regulation time but in the

Saturday afternoon. Mark
Hochreiter paced the
Comets putting five goals
through the nets and
with Seton and Dallas tied
for the second half lead.
These two teams meet
Friday.
Earlier in the week the
Lady Knights defeated
Crestwood 42-36, holding
the Comettes to only four
points in the first half.
Crestwood girls came out
in the second half to out-
score the Lady Knights 32-
21, pulling within six
points of the Lake-
Lehman lead. They
men copped three from

defeated the Sonics 16-9.

Knicks was Chris Engle

each made three points
for the Sonics. The of-

This was the final game
of the season. Next week
the top team from the
Western division for the
championship. On Feb.
22, the all-star game will
be played and on Feb. 24,
the teams will play
against their coaches and
then have a party.

Walsh put in 17 points to
lead the Dallas girls, who
ran up 17 points to the
Comettes four in the first
quarter. Dallas girls led
24-12 at halftime but in the
final quarter the
Comettes began to hit the
nets and outscored the
Lady Mounts 13-7. Cheryl
Golda scored nine of her
11 points to bring the
Comettes within six points
of tying up the game.
The Dallas girls hung on
to pull out their third win
of the week. Earlier they
defeated Wyoming
Seminary 51-41 with
Walsh hitting her 1500
points five minutes into
the second period. She
collected a total of 31
points in the game.
When Walsh hit the
career point on a jump
shot the game was
stopped and she was pre-
sented with the game ball.
The Dallas senior was not
aware that she was so
close to hitting the 1500
points but thanked her
teammates, whom she
said made it all possible.

girls chalked up the win.

Baseski collected 13 at the
Titans gym. Holding a 15-
8 lead at halftime the
Lady Mounts scored 23
points to the Titans six in
the third period, 15 of
these were by Walsh and
Baseski.
