Standing, John Romanowski, Paul Pasek, Joe Rhiel,
made their hitch in Swoyersville Football History in the
middle 50’s and early and middle 60’s, as they starred for
Coach John YonKondy’s football teams. They include
Jack Romanowski, the great tackle on YonKondy’s 1956
team which took the Eastern Conference Championship.
Ralph was the plunging fullback on the ’60 and ’61 teams
and a terror on defense. Michael played on the last
Swoyersville High team the ended with a 9-1 record and
played a whale of a game on both defense and offense.
Now their offspring have taken up the sport on the Jr.
