located in the Narrows Shopping Center, where for six years he has served his clients.
Customers who came to Edwardsville from the Back Mountain, encouraged him to open his
Dallas salon, which is managed by Brenda Morren, assisted by Shelly Hoyt. The three)
maintain the same avantguard quality as in Edwardsville. The ability to create uptown
sophistication or downtown funk is drawn from Salvatore’s experience working in salons
such as Vidal Sasson, Saks Fifth Ave., and Paul McGregor. His liason with hairdressers in
the New York area has exposed him to the latest trends and techniques. DESIGNING

JOE NARDONE*‘S DALLAS GALLERY OF SOUND in the Dallas Shopping Center has been
open since November, 1982. Shoppers will find a wide selection of records, cas-
settes (blanks, also), 45s, tapestry’s record needles and blank videos. In the near future,
the local store will have video movies to correlate with the Wyoming Valley Mall Store and
the Valley’s Video Club. John Henry manager (above), of the Back Mountain, sells tickets
for local concerts. The Mall location has ticketron. In business for the past 20 years, Nar-
done has five stores located in Midtown Village, Gateway Shopping Center, South Main
Street, Wilkes-Barre, Wyoming Valley and now Dallas.
KURLANCHEEK’S FURNITURE
KURLANCHEEK’S FURNITURE, 411 Main St., Duryea, founded by Jacob Kurlancheek in
1898, is now owned and operated by his grandson, Paul and granddaughter, Ronnie. The
third generation business carries a full line of quality furniture, under the management of
Stuart Thomas, Jr. Left to right, Mary Getson, Paul Kurlancheek and Nancy McDonald,
take time out to relax in one of the newest pieces of furniture in the store. The store is open
Monday & Thursday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m.; Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; closed
Wednesday and Sunday.
