Warren Gensel, 24, RD 5, Shavertown, has been dis- issed from his job at the State Corrections Institute at allas following a brawl in the Mercy Hospital Accident oom on Monday, Jan. 10. Glenn Jeffes, superintendent at SCID, said Gensel was dismissed on Tuesday morning, shortly after informa- {tion was received and verified concerning the charges gy dged against him. ~ Gensel was a probationary employee, hired on Nov. 4, 1982. His dismissal stems from his violation of the Bureau of Corrections code of conduct governing off-duty employees. The former guard was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, terroristic threats and de- fiant trespass. Charges related to his reported attempt to enter a Mocanaqua residence, a scuffle with the owner and a brawl at the hospital where he went for treatment. William Delbuno, 5871 Saul St., Philadelphia, {scheduled for preliminary hearing before District Justice Leonard Harvey, will instead stand trial in Luzerne County Court. Delbuno, 27, waived his right to the preliminary hearing which would determine whether sufficient evidence existed for a court trial. He is charged in connection with a Dec. 30 escape from the State Corrections Institute at Dallas. The Chase inmate had been serving a two-to-five year [sentence on burglary charges when he allegedly walked away from the prison grounds. He was due for a parole recommendation in July. This recommendation will now not be forthcoming from Chase prison officials. With six seats on the Lake-Lehman sachool board open for election in November, the present board moved to determine which region will produce the lone two-year vacancy. In a lottery, held on Tuesday, Jan. 11, it was oxen and Lake Townships will carry the seat. The move was in accordance with a recent change in state election laws. Kingston Township will advertise a special meeting at 8p.m., Feb. 23, to hear a zoning change request from the Kenzakoski Brothers, contractors, to mine a portion of their property which lies in the township. The firm has already initiated procedures to strip mine on the property in question. The request is to change present zoning from conservation to mining. Leon Wisnewski, Box 451, Harveys Lake, was due to appear before District Justice John J. Hopkins, Wed- nesday, Jan. 19 on charges relating to a break-in at an Edwardsville home last week. Wisnewski was arrested by Edwardsville police and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after he allegedly broke into: a home on 86 Roosevelt St., Edwardsville. Police found the accused lying face down on the floor in the home with his face cut and unconscious. He was transported to Nesbitt Hospital where he was reported to have caused a ruckus. Following arraignment before Justice Hopkins, he was remanded to Luzerne County prison in lieu of $5,000 bail. Richard Beice, former Harveys Lake employee, has received an out-of-court settlement in a federal suit against Harveys Lake Borough Council and the Municipal Authority. Boice reportedly received $22,000, approximately one-quarter of the $88,000 requested. He has filed suit in Federal Court in July, 1981, charging he had been fired from two positions with the borough with political motivation. Boice had worked with the sewer authority and served as part time zoning officer and building inspector. He was dismissed from both jobs on June 2, 1981. Named in the suit were Council members Frank Coulton, Gifford Cappellini and Margaret Purcell. Also named were former council members Richard Myers and Betty Jane Casterline. Robert Hagenbach, Box 1763, RD 5, Shavertown filed charges of harassment against Jackson Township police officer Bert Balliet with District Justice Leonard Harvey last week. Hagenbach said the policeman grabbed him by the collar and threatened him following a township meeting, Monday, Jan. 3. Harvey set a preliminary hearing on the matter for Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. The maximum fine for harassment is $300 or 90 days in jail. Robert Caporello, 30, an inmate at the State Correc- tions Institute at Dallas has been charged with arson in connection with a fire at the prison on Jan. 3. Caporello, serving a life sentence, was specifically charged with two counts of arson and related offenses, causing or risking a catastrophe, ‘assault by a life prisoner and aggravated assault. He was arraigned before District Justice Leonard Harvey who set bail at $50,000. Daniel Moyer Daniel Joseph Moyer, infant son of James and Barbara Wyda Moyer of Lehman, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Back Mountain Medical Center Tuesday, Jan. 11.
