Over 1000 children,
‘parents, and friends of the
‘Dallas Township
lementary School were
(delighted by an afternoon
of shopping, fun, games,
and abundant holiday
spirit. The scene was the
3rd Annual Winter Car-
| nival sponsored by the
| Dallas Township School
+ P.T.O.
The carnival, held in the
§ school’s gymnasium, was
the result of months of
| preparation by P.T.O.
‘members under the
| guidance of chairman
~ Jackie Downend, and co-
' chairman Jan Waligorski.
Hundreds of hand-
- crafted items were sold as
| Christmas gifts at the
I children’s ‘‘Corner
~ Shoppe” and the adult
| Christmas store.
. There was a white
elephant table featuring
| used articles, books, and
i plants, and a bakery shop
Dr. Joseph Skok, repre-

. visited Lake-Lehman
| School District where he
represented Dr. Robert
~ Scanlon in presenting to
with all kinds of baked
goods, jellies, and canned
goods.
Children enjoyed such
games as Comet’s Pins,
Smurfs Nerf, Blitzen’s
Basket, Elf’s Shuffle, and
an exciting new game to
this year’s carnival,
E.T.’s Walk.
Other very popular
additions to this year’s
attractions were the face-
painting booth, game
room for Mommys. and
Daddys with such prizes
as Daring’s Gift Cer-
tificates, Dinner for two
at Mill Creek Farm, and a
camera. :
Also new this year were
ruffles for a ceramic
Christmas Village
donated by = Millie
Robinson and family,
Gingerbread house
donated by Joanne
Freeman, and an afghan
donated by Mrs. Alice
James. -

pre-registration for the
state-wide school im-
provement program.
Dr. David Preston,
superintendent of the
Lake-Lehman School
District, accepted the
‘Cartoons were shown
throughout the day, and
lunch and refreshments
were served in the
cafeteria.
Of course, Santa joined
in the festivities, and
pictures of the children
with Santa were taken by
the Back Mountain Jay-c-
ettes.

Noxen Elementary School
and its students. Visitors
to the school are greeted
by a gaily decorated tree
and entrance way. All this
week, students will be
doing their shopping at
P.T.A’s ‘Santa’s Secret
Shop.” ;
There will be a
job in bringing us to this
point. I would also like to
express my heartfelt
thanks to John Oliver and
the citizen volunteers,
who also gave so much
time and talent to this
effort. The - school
directors are gratified by
the results of our long-
range plan and I know I
