COFFEE AND DOUGHNUTS--The staff and students of
Luzerne County Community College were recently over-
whelmed with free coffe€ and donuts compliments of the

Scout Pack 232, entertained Dallas Kiwanis members
with a skit about the first Thanksgiving, last Wednesday

tell the story of the first
Thanksgiving as the
second grade classes of
the Dallas Township
Elementary School pre-
sented a Thanksgiving
program in conjunction
with American Education
Week. The program
consisted of several skits,
song, and poems depic-
ting the first Thanks-
giving. Mrs. Klick, Mrs.
Lyons and Ms. Zezza,
second grade teachers,
directed the program.

Dallas Township PTO is
once again sponsoring its
Winter Carnival to be held
at the school on Saturday,
Dec. 4, from 11 a.m. to 3
p.m.
There will be many
activities for all ages
including the children’s
“Corner Shoppe’ where
children can buy gifts at
child size prices. Children
up at the Makeup Booth.
There will be many
games with prizes for
children. One addition to
“E.T.’s Walk’. Children
will be able to watch
cartoons and visit with
Santa. Back Mountain
Jay-C-Ettes will be taking
pictures of the children
with Santa for those who
so desire. Homemade
baked goods will be avail-
able plus a white elephant
sale.
In addition to a separate
Christmas Store just for
adults, there will be a
game room for adults.
Winners of the adult
games will win chances
on large prizes such as a
Party Time Instant
Camera by Kodak, dinner
for two at Mill Creek
Farm, $50 value, and two
gift certificates from
Daring’s Market.
Refreshments will
include pizza, hot dogs,
whimpies, soda, and
coffee.
There are three items to
be raffled off, a ceramic
Christmas Village valued
at over $200, donated by
Millie Robinson and
family; a gingerbread
house, donated by Joanne
Freeman and an afghan
donated by Mrs.
James.

meeting Tuesday, Dec. 7,
at the school. Children
and their parents are
invited to attend as
special emphasis will be
given to trains and train
displays.
Plans for Santa’s Secret
Shop will be finalized by
Jean Hopa, chairman.
Santa’s Secret Shop will
take place Wednesday,
Dec. 8 through Friday,
Dec. 10. It is designed to
enable the children to
select their own special
holiday gifts for their
family and friends. Items
from the Secret Shop will
be displayed during the
evening.

Spear’s third grade class
recently prepared a
Thanksgiving Feast.
