Summertime excite-
ment is pulsing amongst
. the residents and visitors
to our beautiful Lake. One
can catch a glance at the
skills of Jack Davis hang
gliding then descending
on skis to return to his
Lakeside port.
Plans are now on the
work table for the com-
munity to participate in
the third annual Harveys
Lake Day activities. This
unusual event is designed
souly to emphasize our
community pride and add
a holiday to the summer
season. The date is
for anyone to join will
form at 12:30 at the Sunset
parking lot. It departs
Sunset at 1 p.m. and
with an overlay of two
hours for one-way traffic.
So if the bike riders would
like to follow, or any four
legged creatures, they
may do so.

will be sought. Any young
lady, of 15 years to 21 may
affiliated with Harveys
The girls will be judged on
personality, poise, ap-
pearence, and other
qualifications. Our
reigning queen of ‘81,
Miss Brenda Barbara has
represented Harveys
Lake many times since
the bicentennial. She also
was asked to participate
off
in the Miss Pennsylvania
Pagent and did so in
February. You may look
for her in the upcoming
parade. Let’s hope it
doesn’t rain! A rain date
is impossible, but a two
hour delay is most likely
to solve any weather
hazards. So let’s do it
again!

Or I could have spoiled

The Lions Club mem-
bers are gearing up for
their annual Chicken
Barbecue. I'm glad I'm
not a chicken. They roast
best and make

fine community festivity.
They’ll have a meeting
Wednesday to finalize
under the pavillion at
Hanson's Park, the same
place it’s always held. So
if you need tickets, see a
Lion’s member or call my
number.
You can’t miss the fine

With a backdrop of blue
water and fresh breeze,
it’s a fine ride to Harveys
Lake. On a hot day on any
day of the week you can
cool off and relax with the
new air conditioning in
their quiet atmosphere.
Starting Aug. 1, on six
nights of each week, all
but Sunday, there is en-
tertainment to Lend an
ear or to dance to and
dine. With a variety of
musical repertoire either
in the Lounge upstairs or
down, they have pleased
the ears of thousands. So,
with a fine menu and
cocktail lounge, and yet
an ‘array of name en-
tertainment,
On the Lake” has much to
offer. Popular names like
Chick Reeves on
weekends and Bobby
MYADEC
highlights with much
more to happen. So
Antoine’s is an excellent
oasis from day to day
complexity.
Don’t forget your in
spection number four is
have wondered why they
never inspect the driver.
A person should be
checked for vision,
ability, performance and
general knowledge of
driving safety. From time
to time we forgot the
important details. Soon,
the school buses will roll
with children aboard. So
be careful of these little
‘since they
appear out of nowhere. A
good thought, too; is no
matter how well your turn -
signals work, they aren’t -
working well unless you
use them. So get your car
inspected and check
yourself out since a life or
more may depend on how
capable you are to handle
great if the state enforced
a five year driver’s exam
to prove driving per-
formance. The insurance
companies mg just r

dividual.
I have a tough time with
the center of Dallas at the
light, my tire went flat. So
when green meant go, I
old station and got the
jack and spare and the
entire routine. This
maiden in distress had a
helping hand from a
fellow named ‘Mike’. I'd
budging rusted lug nuts. I
got the tire on, put
everything back together,
and trying to drive for-
ward, found that the spare
in my trunk was the
wrong tire. Luckily I had
not removed my snow
tires and had ‘the
replacement summer
tires in the backseat
Testing the first tire ®
found it was flat. Finall
the third tire, was the
perfect spare. Be
prepared for the worst. If
anyone is in need of
firewood I have some to
give to someone in need.
Have a great and shining
day!
