The Dallas Baptist
Church announces that
the Rev. Terry Jarvis is to
be the new Summer Youth
Director for 1982, from the
First Baptist Church of
Atmore, Alabama. Terry
has already planned a full
compliment of summer
* activities for the youth.
These activities consist of
an overnight camp-out at
ESO DN
Ricketts Glen Park on
July 9-10, with deadline
being July 7; an afternoon
swimming party at 1 p.m.
at Boyd Barber’s pier,
Harveys Lake. Other
activities will be an-
nounced at a later date.
To accompany this, the
Dallas Baptist Church is
also pleased to announce
the reinstatement of their
bus ministry. The
beginning of this ministry
will be Sunday morning
starting at 9 a.m. around
Harveys Lake. Prizes will
be given to the person
bringing two or more
people as their guest.
This church will be
sponsoring two one-week
Backyard Bible Clubs
around Harveys Lake.

Red Cross announces the
scheduling of its annual
Learn to Swim program.
Registration dates have
been set for each partici-
pating location. There is a
$5.00 per person fee for
the week’s lessons. Each
student will receive a
copy of the booklet
“Teaching Johnny To
Swim”. Interested people
are asked to attend
registration and to bring a
bathing suit and the fee.

LISA LOKE of Trucks-
ville, a student at the
Wilkes-Barre Campus of
The Pennsylvania State
University, is a 1982
recipient of the Eric A.
and Josephine Walker
Award.
The award, sponsored
by Dr. Walker, president
emeritus of the Univer-
sity, and his wife, is pre-
sented each spring to the
outstanding student at
each of Penn State’s
Commonwealth ~~ Camp-
uses. Its purpose is ‘“‘to
recognize Commonwealth
Campus students whose
outstanding qualities of
character, scholarship,
leadership and citizenship
have influenced fellow
students and have contri-
buted to the prestige and
well-being of their
campus and to the
reputation of the Univer-
sity as a whole.”
~ Ms. Loke was honored
with 17 other winners at a
recent awards luncheon
at University Park.
