Swoyersville Borough
Council will meet to enact
its Sewer Use Fee for
revenues needed to
complete the budget as
passed earlier this year.
The fee ordinance which
Council opted for in lieu of
a real estate tax increase,
as been advertised in the
papers in summary form
during the past two
weeks.
Among the primary
points of the ordinance is
the fee structure which
will be $30 for residences
and $50 for businesses and
industry. All non-profit
organizations, service
organizations, schools
$30 sum. Due to the ex-
tensive research into the
manner enactment of
such a fee the bills are
being mailed out early in
July. The annual payment
will be due on or before
September 30 of this year.
Though the ordinance
contains penalty
provisions for late
payment Council may
elect to forego any
penalty enforcement this
year due to the short
payment period. In
subsequent years
however, the bills will be
mailed out in the first
quarter of the year and
due by September 30 with
penalty provisions in
force.
Borough Council has
jointly issued a request to
residents to cooperate
fully with this fee as they
have with the refuse fee
for garbage collection.
The revenues. are vitally
needed this year to
maintain levels of service
for the remainder of 1982.
Though the fee normally
will be used expressly for
sanitary sewer ex-
penditures other revenues
have been utilized for
sanitary sewer costs this
year until the new fee
receipts are received.
Thus those line items of
the budget are being
strained by supporting
both the sanitary sewers
and the purpose for which
said funds were intended.

several years ago. One
day this writer and Joe
were talking about golf
and Joe, who was then
working for Rich and Max
Arco, told me that Watson
will be a top golfer and
was following his career.
