Dallas Township super- visor Frank Wagner re- turned from the State Convention of Township Supervisors last Thur- sday. Over 3500 local officials gathered at Hershey for the three day conference. Discussion and voting on 82 pieces of legislation was held. Wagner said some of the major topics included revised methods of distri- buting Revenue Sharing and increased Liquid Fuel allotments. “Everyone is. getting more Liquid Fuel dollars,” he explained. He also sees the Federal government’s move to shift distribution of Revenue sharing to the individual states as a good one. “There will be less red tape this way. They feel the local govern- ments know best how to use the money, so we'll be able to spend it where it is most needed,” he said. Wagner feels more local officials should take advantage of the yearly convention. He has gone for the last six years and always comes away with a wealth of information about what’s going on around the State. “You get to know what others are thinking and doing, and what their problems are. It’s really very in- formative.” Wagner also serves on the nominating com- mittee for the State Association. He will be sharing his insights with the other two Township supervisors, Phil Walter and Glen Howell, in more detail. Luzerne County Court is awaiting a pre-sentencing investigation on Dallas businessman Wilson R. Garinger of 24 Lake St. Judge Bernard Podcasy’s office reported a senten- cing hearing will be scheduled after the Adult Probation and Parole Office makes its report. It was not known when the report would be com- pleted. Garinger was continued on bail after he pleaded guilty in court last week to two counts of delivery and one count of possession of a controlled substance. He is charged with three counts each of possession with intent to deliver and delivery of a controlled substance. Charges stem from three incidents in 1981. The maximum sentence on the three charges to which he pleaded guilty is ten years and 30 days in jail and a $30,500 fine. pot - - - 2, ner ~ LANDSCAPING WEEKEND SPECIAL Azaleas Regis: $325 Flowering Shrubs *%: #595 Althea Pussywillow Honeysuckle Caryopteris : Hypericum Available Now - Begonias, Impatiens & Geraniums EARLY VEGETABLES Onions Broccoli Lettuce Cabbage Cauliflower Brussel Sprouts Kohlrabi ; LANDSCAPINGORETAILeGREENHOUSES NORTHAMPTON ST., KINGSTON Across from the Narrows Shopping Center DALLAS FIRE DEPARTMENT respo- nded to two brush fires last week.
