WHOLE WHEAT NOT- SO-SWEET DOUGH 2 pkgs. Fleischmann’s Active Dry Yeast 1 c. non-fat dry milk 1 T. salt 1 c. quick-cooking oats or wheat germ or bran cereal 31» c. warm water (105F- 115F) Y% c. .Blue Bonnet margarine, softened 3 eggs, slightly beaten 4 c. whole wheat flour 51-6 c. flour In large mixing bowl, combine yeast, non-fat dry milk, salt and oat- meal (or wheat germ or bran cereal). Add 2 cups Say warm water and stir until dissolve. Add margarine, hone or molasses, eggs, remaining 1% cups warm water and whole wheat flour. Beat well. Stir in 4 11-2 cups flour to add to “dough while kneading until dough is smooth and elastic. Shape dough into bail. Cover with damp towel; allow to rest on lightly floured surface 15 minutes. Divide dough into 4 equal pieces. TO FREEZE DOUGH: Wrap each piece tightly with aluminum foil or plastic wrap; wrap again or seal tightly in plastic bag. To defrost, allow to remain at room tempera- ture for 2%-3 hours, or until dough is completely softened. To defrost in microwave oven, microwave on Low (one third power) 10 to 12 minutes or until dough is completely softened. TO BAKE: Prepare and bake according to recipe directions below. PEANUT BUTTER CHIP ROLL-OUTS 1c. Reese’s Peanut Butter Chips, .chopped 1 c. applesauce 1 t. cinnamon Additonal Reese’s Peanut Butter Chips prepare Whole Wheat No-So-Sweet-Dough. On a lightly floured surface, roll 4 of the dough into a rectangle © measuring 12x16 inches. In a small bowl, combine chopped peanut butter chips, applesauce and cin- namon; stir until blended. Spoon mixture onto rectangle of dough; spread to within % inch of edges. Roll tightly from the 16-inch side, pinching edges to seal. Slice roll into 12 1-inch slices. Heat oven to 250 degrees; turn oven off. Place pan in oven. Allow to rise until doubled, about 30 minutes; remove from oven. Preheat oven to 375 degrees; bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pans; cool on wire rack. PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY BRAID 3 T. grape or strawberry jelly (or preserves) 1c. Reese’s Peanut Butter Chips 3 T. milk Prepare Whole Wheat Not-So-Sweet Dough. On a lightly floured surface, roll ¥; of the dough’into a rectangle mesuring 12x14 inches. Cut into 3 strips, each measuring 4x14 inches. Spread each strip with 3 tablespoon jelly or preserves to within inch of edges of strip. In small saucepan, heat peanut butter chips and milk over medium heat, stirring constantly until chips are melted and mix- ture is smooth. Spread one third of the mixture on each strip to within inch of edges. Pinch lengthwise edges of each trip together; pinch ends together. Then pinch one end of all strips together, seam sides up. Carefully braid strips and pinch opposite ends together. Fold ends under; place seam side up in a well- greased 9x5 inch loaf pan. Cover with towel. Heat oven to 250 degrees; turn oven off. Place pan in oven. Allow to rise until doubled, about 30 minutes; remove from oven. Preheat oven to 375 degrees; bake 20 to 25 minutes or until loaf is golden brown and sounds hollow “when tapped.
