Lake-Lehman’s Black
Knights nipped the
Meyers Mohawks 3-2
Saturday, at Barney
Farm field to pick up their
first win to put them at 1-1
in the Wyoming Valley
Blair Jennings of Dallas
is on the Susquehanna
University men’s tennis
roster this spring. He is a
returning letterman.
The Crusader netmen,
with a 2-2 record in the
early going, are hoping to
rebound from last year’s
disappointing 4-8 season.

Joe Kishkill did the
pitching for the Knights
and held the usually hard
hitting Mohawks to only
five hits. In defeating the
Mohawks Kishkill walked
Jennings, a sophomore
economics major, is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. John
Moore of 67 Grandview
Ave., Dallas, and Roger
Jennings Jr. of Atlanta,
Ga. He is a graduate of
Wyoming Seminary Day
School.
only two at the plate but

The Knights went in
front 1-0 in the third in-
ning and took a 3-0 lead
before the Mohawks
scored two runs in the
sixth inning. Kishkill did
not let up and pitched
tight in the seventh to hold
the Knights 3-2 lead.
The Knights scored only
four hits in earning the
win, one of those a
homerun by Kishkill.
The Mohawks Dave
Amory and Joe Irwin had
two hits each to account
for four of the five Meyers
hits.
The Knights dropped
their opening game on
Thursday, 6-3, to the Blue
Knights of Wyoming
Seminary. Mark Antinnes
and relief pitcher H.
Louchie together gave up
only four hits while their
teammates piled up a six
run count in the first three
innings.
The Black Knights
Tracey Slocum started on
the mound and went three
innings before . Michaels
took over. Slocum,
credited with the loss,
struck out two and gave
up five walks. Michaels
struck out two and walked
only one. Kishkill drove
out a three base hit for the
Black Knights.
Coach Jack Wolensky’s
Dallas Mountaineers
edged the Wyoming
Warriors 7-6 Thursday.
Jerry Rollman’s key hit in
the seventh scored Steve
Federici and broke the 6-6
tie. Rollman came in as a
designated hitter with two
out in the seventh. Clarke
Lewis held the Warriors
in the bottom half of the
seventh to go all the way
for Dallas. Lewis fanned
six and walked seven.
The Mountaineers took
a 1-0 lead in the first in-
ning, scored two runs in
the second, and another
single in the third. With
the scored tied at 4-4, the
Mountaineers scored two
runs in the fourth inning
to lead 6-4.
The Warriors scored a
run in the fifth and
another in the sixth inning
to tie the score at 6-6 going
into the top half of the
seventh.
In the seventh inning,
Federici hit a single with
two out, then Paul Brace
walked before Rollman
came in and hit his game-
breaking single.
Ken Houts was the
losing pitcher for
Wyoming. ;
The Mountaineers
pounded West Side Tech
12-1, Wednesday, behind
Steve Thomas’ two-hitter.
Sophomore Dav e Thomas
went 3-for-3 and had 5
RBI's, with one of his hits
a three run triple. Mike
Ramirez also went 3-for-3
and had two RBI's.

Wolensky’s Mountai-
neers opened the season
on Monday with a double-
header win, taking Seton
Catholic’ 15-4 .in the
opening game and de-
feating Bishop Hoban 14-9
in the second game.
Dallas collected 13 hits
off Seton Catholic and
scored eight runs in the
first inning before Seton
Catholic defense scored
an out. Steve Bestwick
drove out a three run
homerun. Dave Thomas
and Jerry Rollman each
hit one. Dave Burnaford,
Brace, Thomas and
Grabenstetter knocked
out doubles.
In the Bishop Hoban
game, Rollman drove out
a three run homer to
break a 9-9 tie with the
Argents in the bottom of
the fifth inning. The
Mounts collected 10 hits
with Thomas, Bestwick
and Federici leading the
attack. Lewis was
credited with the win in
the Hoban game. Jim
Lord took the win in the
Seton Catholic game.
The Lady Knights
edged Valley West 3-2
Friday behind the two hit
pitching of Tracey Turner
on the Knights diamond.
Turner hurled the full
game for Lake-Lehman
striking out seven and
giving up three walks.
Turner also knocked out
two singles and Rebecca
Clifford collected the
other hit for the Lady
Knights. They were held
to three hits by Spartan
hurler Laurie Crawford.
The win gave Turner 3-0
record.
Turner took the mound
Thursday afternoon and
pitched a no hit game
against Wyoming
Tim Guzek’s triple win
and Mike Kern’s two
event win weren't enough
for the Dallas trackmen
as they went down 80-70 to
the Wyoming ' Warriors
Tuesday afternoon in the
opening meet of the
Wyoming Valley Track
Conference.
Guzek took the 800 and
1600 meter runs and the
high jump. Kern placed
first in the shot put and
discus.
Due to very bad road
conditions and the
maintenance thereof,
Mountain Springs Lake
and Bowmans Creek will
not be open to the public
for fishing until 8 a.m.
May 1. Very shortly
before this scheduled
opening, Mountain
Seminary to pace the
Black Knights to a 12-2
trouncing of the Blue
Knights.
Turner helped at the bat
by driving out a triple.
Rhonda Hudzik and Kim
Fey drove out doubles and
Donna Ide and Jill
Solinski hit singles.
The Lady Knights took
a 3-0 lead in the first in-
ning but Seminary scored
two runs in the top half of
the second on two walks
who came in on an over-
throw.
Turner fanned five and
walked four in picking up
the win.
The Lady Knights
walloped Hanover 16-4
The Warriors had Dave
Conti as a four time
winner and Ken Stack-
house took three firsts to
make the difference.
Mountaineers results of
