JoAnn’s recipe for
Venison Teriyaki. Easy to
prepare, Venison
Teriyaki combines stir
fried green peppers,
onions and fresh mushr-
ooms with venison cubes.
For a delicious side dish,
JoAnn has provided us
with the recipe for Fried
Rice. Since JoAnn’s
husband Al is a hunter,
the Karolchiks often enjoy
the Back Mountain prior
to her marriage. She is
this venison meal.
The Karolchiks moved
to Shavertown in August.
However, JoAnn, a Back
Mountain native,
graduated from Dallas
also a graduate of Wilkes-
Barre Business College.
JoAnn’s husband Al,
graduate of Forty Fort
High School
Institute of Pittsburgh,
High School and lived in works at Offset Paper-
It’s good to have money and the things money can buy,

yard and working with

2 eggs
1 c. sugar
one third ec.
margarine
11, t. grated lemon peel
1Y, c. flour
1 t. baking powder
1t salt
1» ¢. chopped pecans
Combine ingredients,
stirring well. Pour into a
greased loaf pan. Bake at
350 degrees for 45
minutes. After loaf has
baked pour glaze over
bread while it is still
warm.
GLAZE
V4 c. sugar
3 T. lemon juice
melted
VENISON TERIYAKI
11b. venison steaks, cubed
1 Ig. onion, diced
1» green pepper, diced
sliced
Cook onions in butter
until clear. Add green
pepper and simmer 5
minutes. Add cubed
venison and fresh mushr-
ooms; stir fry fast. Meat
should not be overcooked.
Serve immediately with
fried rice.
FRIED RICE
1 c. rice, (not Minute
Rice)
2 c¢. water
1, stick butter
1 med. onion, diced
1 egg
Soy sauce
Combine rice and
water. Simmer until
tender, refrigerate.
Brown onion in butter.
Add rice and soy sauce
using soy sauce until rice
turns light brown. Salt
and pepper to taste.

Kingston = Township
Lions Club will sponsor an
Easter Egg Hunt on
Saturday, April 3, on the
grounds of the Westmore-
land Elementary School
in Trucksville. Activities
will begin at 1 p.m. The
Lions will hide over 500
numbered eggs which can
be redeemed for
chocolate prizes.
Children 12 years of age
and under are invited to
participate. On the
planning commimttee for
this year’s hunt are Lions
John Sobeck, Chairman;
Joe Campbell and Gary
Hozempa.

pinch salt

1 T. corn syrup.

Gradually add sugar
using only enough so that
the mixture is not wet or
sticky. When you can
handle this mixture,
knead until smooth and
creamy, about 10
Shape into
Easter eggs using a
tablespoon. Refrigerate
chocolate.
