The Back Mountain
team proved to be too well
balanced for the Hazleton
team, with the Back
Mountain boys coming on
the top end of a 62-7 vic-
tory. Although the score
was one-sided there were
many exciting bouts.

went to the courts three
times last week and came
up with three losses.
Seton Catholic took an
early first quarter lead
Saturday evening to
defeat the Knights 55-46.
Seton’s Frank Tippet
canned 18 points to lead
his team to the win. He
was followed by Mike
Farrell who had 14 and J.
Kosik who put in 10 points.
The Knights were able
to score only seven
pointsin the first quarter
while their opponents
tossed in 13. In the second
quarter the Knights out-
scored Seton Catholic 13-
12 but fell down in the
opening period of the
second half when they put
in only three points while
Seton chipped in 10.
The game was close at
the end of the first half
with the Eagles leading
25-20 but the Eagles came
on strong in the third
period to put the game on
ice.
The Knights rallied in
the final period but
couldn’t get enough to
overtake their opponents.
Joe Kishkill led the
Knights with 17 points.
Bill Bearde dumped in 16.
Bishop Hoban took the
Knights 61-49 Thursday
paced by Mike Slaboski’s
30 points, 26 from the floor
and 4-4 from the foul line.
G. Bukeavich also hit the
double figures with 15
points’ in the exhibition
game.
The Argents held a i)
half 28-17 lead and never
fell behind throughout the
contest.
Joe Kishkill led the
Knights with 20 points
tossing in 18 from the field

In Tuesday’s game with
Crestwood, the Comets
outscored the Knights 24-8
in the first quarter to go
on to win 71-54. The
Knights hit 16-20 from the
foul line and were out-
scored only 47-46 by the
Comets in the final three
quarters but they were
unable to overcome the
Comets first quarter lead.

Lake-Lehman Lady
Knights lost their (first
game of the league season
Saturday when Seton
Catholic defeated them
60-48 led by M. Mozal who
tossed in 17 points and M.
Reddington 16.
The young Knights sur-
prised the Seton team in
the first half and led 28-27
at the end of the first half.
The third quarter was a
see-saw contest with
Seton Catholic leading 40-
38. It was the fourth
quarter that gave Seton
Catholic the win when
Mozal controlled the
defensive boards and
dumped in nine of 11 free
The Lady Knights had a
balanced scoring game
with Kim Fey hitting 12
and Tracy Turner scoring
10 each.
The Lady Knights were
edged out 36-34 by Tunk-
hannock in an exhibition
game Thursday night
played on the local girls
court.
Hudzik led the Lake-
Lehman girls with 14
points, P. Solinski hit
eight, Fey and Turner six
each.
Tunkhannock’s Kim
Vermevlen was high
scorer with 15 points.
Tracy Turner tossed
18 points to lead the Lakies
Lehman girls to a 49-

Tuesday afternoon.
