    “Il think that PennDot has
done a good job clearing the
roads considering it’s the first
winter storm of the season,”
said Henry VanHorn of Shaver-
town: “Although | live on the
school snow route, which is
usually kept clear of snow, |
understand that most of the
otherroads are also cleared.”
“Il enjoy the first snow of the
season, although | would
rather it fall on Christmas eve,”
said Terry Danks of Harveys
Lake. “This kind of weather
depresses me a bit, but it still
starts to get me into the
Christmas spirit.”

“Considering that this storm
was the first of the season, |
think that PennDot did a good
job in clearing the roads,” said
Dorothy Hoyt, also of Shaver-
town. “But | think they should
stop using salt to clear the
roads because it ruins cars.
Drivers should just drive
slower; that would help
prevent accidents even on the
Saturday, Dee. 12, will
be a special day at the
Dallas Township
Elementary School.
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. the
PTO will be sponsoring
the Winter» Carnival, an
event eagerly awaited by
the children. There will
be fun and activities for
all toenjoy. There will be
games and prizes for the
children. Cartoons will be
shown periodically -
throughout the day.
Tickets will be sold for
participation in the games
There will be baked
goods, books, plants and
white elephant items to
purchase. Parents will
have an opportunity to
purchase a variety of
handcrafted items in a
shop for adults white the
“Corner Shoppe’ will
feature budget priced
items which ony children
may purchase as gifts.
Pizza, hot dogs and soda
will be sold in the
cafeteria.
As a special treat, Santa
Claus will visit the Car-
nival and talk to all
youngsters. Parents may
bring their own camera
and take pictures.
The PTO is giving each
student in the Township
Elementary School five
tickets so they may enjoy
some of the activities for
free. However, all
children and parents in
the area are invited to
attend.
