Halloween parade Oct. 25
The Dallas Kiwanis Club Halloween Parade will be
held Sunday, Oct. 25. Parade will form at the Dallas Twp.
Elementary School at 1 p.m. Parade will proceed down
Church Street to Center Hill Road to Lake Street ending
‘Qthe Eastern Star parking lot where prizes and treat
bags will be presented. Prize categories are: Prettiest,
Funniest, Most Original and Best Group.
‘Widows meet Oct. 22
The Wyoming Valley chapter of Living a New Live
(LNL) an organization for the widowed, will meet
Thursday, October 22, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Nicholas
Community Room, S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre.

Pops season Oct. 30-31
The Philharmonic Pops celebrates the season Friday,
Oct. 30 at the Masonic Temple in Scranton, and Saturday,
Oct. 31 at the Irem Temple, Wilkes-Barre, with a festive
‘Family Halloween Hoedown” featuring the sensational
Wolff and the Pops is 8:30 p.m. Tickets are available
through the Philharmonic hotline, 654-4788 of Gallery of
Sound stores and Book and Record Mart, Wilkes-Barre.
®oliday Fair Nov. 4
The “Holiday Fair” sponsored by the Shavertown
Branch of the Nesbitt Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will
convene on Wednesday, Nov. 4 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and
Thursday, Nov. 5 from 11 a.m. to'4 p.m. All eight bran-
ches of the Auxiliary will participate, offering holiday
gifts, arts and crafts, homemade jams, jellies, baked
goods and plants. This annual “‘Fall’’ event is held in the
auditorium of Nesbitt Medical Arts Building on Wyoming
Avenue in Kingston.
Music Therapy Nov. 20
The Music Therapy Club of College Misericordia is
currently seeking sponsors and dancers for their annual
Dance-a-thon to be held on November 20 in Kennedy
Lounge of Merrick Hall. Prizes will be awarded to the
dance-a-thon winners. For more information call the

Hoagie sale Oct. 27
The Dallas Township PTO will sponsor a Hoagie Sale
Tuesday, Oct 27. The hoagies will cost $1.25 each.
Orders are to be accompanied by the money and should
be sent to the school by. Thursday, Oct. 22. Proceeds
from the sale will be used to purchase and install a large
movie screen which will enhance the enjoyment of the
children as they watch movies at the school. The first
PTO sponsored movie at the school will be the Muppet
Movie on Friday evening, Nov. 6.

Halloween Party Oct. 24
The Kunkle United Methodist Church will hold its
Annual Community Halloween Party; Oct. 24, 7 p.m., at
the Kunkle Community Hall. All children of the area are
invited to attend for a funtime evening. There will be a
costume judging contest during the party so come
dressed in your most original, scariest, prettiest, or
funniest costumes. ;
Cadette Troop meet Oct. 22
A reorganization meeting for Cadette Girl Scout Troop
706 will be held Thursday, Oct. 22, 7:30 p.m., in the lobby
of Lake-Lehman Senior High School. Former Cadette
Scouts and interested girls in seventh; eighth and ninth
grade are invited to attend, accompanied by a parent or
guardian. Mary Dixon and Charlot Denmon will conduct

Penn State hypnotist Oct. 26
Penn State-Wilkes Barre Campus, Lehman, will
present James J. Mapes, award-winning hypnotist on
Monday, October 26, in the George W. Bierly Auditorium

Prince of Peace Episcopal Churchwomen, Dallas, will
