Morenko dies in crash on Dallas road
Jeffrey Steven
Morenko, 22, RD 5,
Cloverleaf Road, Dallas,
was fatally injured in a
motor vehicle accident,
Wednesday, April 8, on
Lower Demunds Road,
Dallas.
Born in Scranton,
Morenko had been a
resident of the Dallas
area. He was a graduate
of Dallas High School and
had been attending
Luzerne County Com-
munity College. Morenko
was a member of Gate of
Heaven Catholic Church,
Dallas.
Surviving are his
father, Steven: mother,
the former Irene

owner of Cooks Pharmacy
Stores, one at 777
Wyoming Ave., Kingston,
and the second at 159
Memorial Highway,’
Shavertown, across the
ighway from the Back
Mountain Shopping
Center.
Lombardo . purchased
the store and the Cooks
name in Kingston during
the year 1967. He pur-
chased the Back Moun-
tain business in January,
1,977, from the owner of
Hall’s Pharmacy.
Lombardo continued in
business in the Hall
building until September,
1980, when he purchased
the Evans Rexall Store
and moved to that
location.
Lombardo, who resides
in Kingston, employs four
fulltime and five part-
time employees from the
Back Mountain in his
Shavertown store and one

Cooks Pharmacy in
Shavertown has a com-
plete prescription
department with two
registered pharmacists,
Lombardo and Howard
Dinstel. The pharmacy
also has a complete line of
and a limited inventory of
cosmetics.
A recent innovation at
Cooks Pharmacy is the
lottery Daily Number
machine.
Cooks also carry
Russell Stover candy and
Barton’s dietetic candy.
The store always had a
variety of cards and gift
paper but Cooks now
carries Hallmark , cards
and gift wrap. Their Blue
Ribbon Farm Dairy ice
cream is delicious.
