Mrs. Moss reported that 52 have been contributing since 1970; 43 contributors started with us in the former ham donors in '66 and '67. Many joined during the "0s who have been steady contributors. They all have one common goal: the Back Mountain Memorial Library and what it means to our community. Plans for the 25th annual Centermoreland Auction and Barbecue are well underway by members of Centermoreland United Methodist Church. This year’s auction-barbecue will be held on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 8 and 9, starting at 4 p.m. each day. Barbecue will be served starting at 4 each day, followed ‘by the auction, - which will get underway at 7 both evenings. Over the years, the auction-barbecue has attracted thousands of northeastern Pennsyl- vania residents and proceeds have benefitted the church in its various programs. All of the items auctioned off during the two nights of bidding are donated by area residents and merchants. The barbecue attracts upwards of a thousand diners each year with some of the Back Country's best chefs assisting in preparing the delicious meal. Co-chairpersons for this year's benefit affair are Frank G. Williams, Carl Besteder and Mrs. Bea Beatty, who have been active over the years in promoting the benefit barbecue-auction. Donation is $1.25. Franklin plans bazaar The Franklin- Northmoreland Twp. Fire Company will hold its annual bazaar on July 24- 25-26 at the fire hall grounds in Orange. There will be games, food and entertainment. Auxiliary president Joanne Marino wishes to remind township residents that donations of baked goods and sale items for the bazaar are greatly needed.
