Colors ranged from white for new members to purple and gold for 50-year members: Mrs. John Perry was honored for being an active member of the church longer than anyone else present (76 years), and Mrs. Ezra Rozelle was similarly honored for 68 years of church membership. Covenant love for the family was celebrated by recognizing all couples married at least 50 years. The Rev. Dr. Allan J. Cease, pastor, preached on the theme, ‘What the World Needs Now,” and a combined choir sang the anthem, “The Love of My Lord to Me.’ The service concluded with a renewal of marriage vows by all married couples present and a renewal of the congregations’ covenant with God.
