Recreation League last
weekend by defeating the
Pizza Bar 68-62 on
Saturday and taking T.I.’s
Tavern 70-68 on Sunday.
In other games T.I’s
Tavern defeated Don’s
Citgo 85-72 on Saturday
and the Pizza Bar picked
up a 72-65 win over the
Citgo team on Sunday.
Setting the scoring pace
for Fritzges Market in
Saturday’s game with the
Pizza Bar were P.J.
Delaney with 14 points,
two of them from the foul
line; Bill Lozo and Dave
Fritzges with 12 each
from the court and Brad
Arnaud with 10, four
through the nets from the
court and two from the
halftime. The Citgo team
came back in the second
half but not enough to
overcome. the Tavern’s
big first half lead.
In Sunday’s game Mike
Caffrey and Chuck Wilson
led the Pizza Bar scoring
with 19 points each. Chris
Sharpe tossed in 14 and
Mike Barnard collected 10
points all of them from the
playing court.
Gebhardt scored 23
points, five of them from
the foul line to lead Don
Citgo. O’'3Briend added 18
points and Bob Harris and
Don Hinkle had 10 apiece.
Harris collected two of his
from the free stripe.
Hinkle tossed his in from
the field.
The Pizza Bar led 37-36
at the half but outscored
the Citgo team by six in
the second half.
“Our game with
Wyoming Seminary was
exciting right down to the
wire,” said Knight Coach
Rodger Bearde about his
team’s 64-63 win over
Wyoming Seminary last
week.
“We took a “six point
lead late in the game but
we made some costly
turnovers which could
have cost us’ but our
defense shut them out.
Near the end we came up
with several key steals.
“Idon’t think we played
as well defensively as we
could have, however.
