Mrs. Janet Tallent directed the cast; photography was in charge of James Martin, with narration by Mr. and Mrs. James Martin. _ Opening number: ‘Come, Everybody Come!’ was sung by the Youth Choir of the Church, with speaking parts by the following: nursery class: Denise Antalic, Sara Martin, Jonelle Spencer and Jphnette Zacharius; beginners class: Jeff Martin, Richie Setser, Jessie Sorber, Patricia Bolton, Nichole Chapin, Sherrie Rauiba, John Antalic, Kevin Weaver, May, Kenny May, Bran Thompson, Trudy Wandel, Scott Greenley, and Betty Joo Bolton. 1 Offertory number was by Donna Schull and Bobbie Schull in an organ and guitar medley. Slide presentation of Christmas Story was by children of Primary I, Juniot I and II, and Teens in the Youth Choir. Musical groups included the Beginner’s Vlass, which sang “Away In A Manger;’’ Cherub Choir, “Love the World; Girls Choir, ‘“‘God’s Gift!”’ and- sYouth Choir, ‘‘Jesus Saviour.” ‘Keep Christ in Christmas’ was presented by David and Dawn Sims and Heather Sorber. Involved in the retreat is a panel of out- standing spiritual leaders in the area. The Rev. Lynn Rothrock, pastor of St. Paul’s Luteran Church, Shavertown, will share the weekend with the Rev. William Csterle of the theology de, rtment of Scranton Uni .rsity and the Rev. Joseph Streit, pastor of our Lady of Lourdes, Montoursville. Among the Sisters of Mercy participating in guiding the retreatants will be Constance Kozel of Connections staff; Cor Mariae Mulhern of Religious Consultation Center; and Susan Marie Nowalis, assistant to the The twilight retreat will center about such concepts as ‘‘Another Way to Prepare for a New Year,” ‘Reflections on the Past Year,” ‘‘Gathering the Fragments,’ and ‘Looking with Hope towards 1979.” Two of the liturgies will be eucharistic; the third will consist of scriptual wor- ship. Program was presented by the United Methodist Women of the church. Congregational hymn sing was led by Kimberly Barber. A saxophone solo was played by Cindy Weiskerger, and the shadow play of ‘The Nativity,” was directed by Mrs. Becky Musto, and included the following in the cast: Miss Jeanette Faux, narrator; Craig Faux, Russell Faux, Jr., Kimberly Barber,, Arthur Coolbaugh, Jr., Ernest Barber, Lori Coolbaugh, Leslie Weiskerger, Cindy Weiskerger, TT. Weiskerger, Lynn Scott, Diane Smith and Robin Rozelle. The covered dish supper was enjoyed by a large attendance of friends and members of the church. Christmas cards were exchanged, as was an exchange of baked goods gift. . The charge-wide Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion will be held at Idetown United Methodist Church at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday Evening. Sunday Morning sermon topic will be ‘the “God- the Source of the Christmas Star”. At Leh- man the sacrament of baptism will be ad- ministered and there will be reception of members. The Lehman Sunday School Christmas Party will be held Saturday, Dec. 23, at 2 p.m. The pastor's con- firmation class will hold a special session from 10 a.m.-Noon on Thursday, Dec. 28. A play, “The Little Lame Shepherd,” will highlight the annual Christmas program to be presented Sunday evening at 7 in Northmoreland Baptist Church in Centermoreland. Mrs. Betty Statnik will be narrator and the cast will include these young people of the church: Edna Newberry, Jamie May, Deborah Rought, Terry Russell, Robin Charney, Brenbda Button, Elaine Race, Brenda Rought, Henry Rowlands, Sanndy Russell, Venice Kartalunas and Ben Crofchik, Jr. Included on the program will be recitations, dialog and instrumental solos by young people of the church. Special vocal music will be sung by Mrs.Gloria Campell, Mrs. Michael Rowlands and Mrs. James May. In charge of the program are Mrs. Ruth Crofchik, Mrs. Bonnie Reeves and Mrs. Betty Statnik. Plans were made for the following projects in 1979: Birthday Calendars for Ruth Circle Thursday, Dec. 21st, the Ruth Circle of the Sweet Valley Church of Christ will host the guests from the Thomas Guest Home in Sweet Valley, to a Christmas party at the church. Thursday evening, the Lydia Circle of the Church of Christ will visit the Giberson Guest Home to present a Christmas program and distribute gifts. A Christmas eve service will be held at 7:30 at the Church of Christ, Sweet Valley. Everyone is welcome to attend. The children of the Sunday School will be presenting a program.
