Stolen car Harveys Lake Police were searching Tuesday for a car reported stolen about noon from a point along the Noxen Road where it had Taken was a Suburu “Brat” owned by Ronall Enterprises of Norristown. The driver of the car, a Ronall employee, told police that he took the keys with him and locked the vehicle, but that someone managed to start the car anyway. Accident A Dallas woman’s car was ‘“‘severely damaged’’ Saturday when it ran into the rear end of a vehicle stopped along Route 309 while trying to make a left turn. Dallas Borough Police report that Harold K. Ash, 70, of 142 North Main Street, Shavertown, had stopped 309 awaiting the chance to turn left onto Main St., when he was struck from behind by a car driven by Deborah Jane Cartier, 16, of RD 1, Box 596, Dallas. The Cartier vehicle was towed from the scene. Cartier told police that she was traveling in the passing lane and could not stop in time or move into the driving lane because of traffic there. Investigating was Ptlm. James Tupper. Hit-run An auto belonging to a Shavertown woman was damaged by a hit-and-run driver in the parking lot of Franklin’s Restaurant, Dallas, Thursday. According to Dallas Borough Police, Renee Ann Young of Village Drive, Shavertown, a Franklin’s in the lot when she arrived for work and returned to find it moderately damaged. Stolen car A new-Dodge belonging to a Dallas auto dealer was recovered Sunday after having been taken from his garage the previous day, bearing some damage it suffered during the theft. Taken was a car belonging to L.L. Richardson. Entry to the garage was gained by breaking a window, climbing in, and opening the door. The vehicle was scraped against the side of the door as it was being removed. It was recovered the following day in the College Manor area of Dallas. Investigating are Dallas Borough Chief of Police Edward Lyons and the Pennsylvania State Police, Wyoming Barracks. When found, the car bore a license plate removed from another auto Friday while it was parked in the parking lot of the Common- wealth Telephone Co. Inmates charged Three Chase inmates have been scheduled for a Friday hearing before District Magistrate Leonard Harvey, Dallas, on charges of possession of weapons or implements of escape. They were arraigned Thursday and sent back to the prison, with bail having been set at $5,000 apiece’ and not met. The three men--Harry L. Evans, Raymond A. Pugsley, and Benjamin H. Thompson were allegedly discovered in possession of weapons in separate November incidents at the prison. Evans was reportedly found with a homemade knife in his pocket, Pugsley with a pair of steel wire cutters in an eyeglass case, and Thompson with a homemade knife in a leatherlike case. Prosecutor was Tpr. Donald L. Taylor, Penn- sylvania State Police, Wyoming Barracks. Escapes injury A Wilkes-Barre young man escaped injury Sunday when his car skidded and overturned on the icy Luzerne-Dallas Highway in Kingston Township. Driver of the car, David R. Baldo, 18, of 72 Mundy St., was driving north in the passing lane when, as he attempted to move into the driving lane, his vehicle skidded on the slick roadway and - overturned. The Kingston Township ambulance was called to the scene but was not needed. Baldo’s 1973 Suburu was extensively damaged, coming to rest off the right side of the road.
