” » * IN THE SPOTLIGHT Barbara Wallace Barbara Wallace, senior at Dallas High School, is in the Post Spotlight this week. ; The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Wallace, 106 Mt. Airy Road, Shaver- town, Barbara has three brothers, Don, recently married; Bob and Tom; and two sisters, Mary, 19 years of age, and Carol, 12. A member of the Student Council for the past four years, Barbara is secre- tary of the senior class and also a member of the senior steering committee. She played on the senior high school varsity volley- ball team in both her sophomore and junior years, and plans to go out for the team again this year. Last year she was co- captain of the team. Barbara plans to attend rT TI ET TE THE DALLAS POST, OCTOBER 19, 1978 IN THE SPOTLIGHT college following gradua- tion from high school, pro- bably - Penn State University where she will major in mathematics. In her leisure time, Bar- bara enjoys all sports as a spectator. She likes listen- ing to music and enjoys dancing. She also likes to take a favorite book and find a quiet spot to read. Barbara believes that there has been an improve- ment in the school spirit but would like to see even more attendance at school functions by the students. She likes to travel and has been as far South as Orlando and Daytona Beach, Fla. Each summer she spends several weeks at Wildwood, NJ, sometimes with her parents and sometimes with friends. The Lake-Lehman student in the spotlight this week is Eileen Borton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Borton, Harveys Lake. A senior at Lake- Lehman, Eileen has two sisters, Kathleen, student at College Misericordia; at Lake-Lehman High School. Eileen has been a member of the Lake- Lehman band for the past six years and this year is president. She also is vice president of the student council and treasurer of Future Business Leaders of America. She is interested in dra- matics and has a part in this year’s senior play. She recently auditioned and was selected for District Chorus which will be at Abington Heights High School. Eileen also is one of three representatives of the school who will be inter- viewed = for possible selection to’ the Boston Store Teen Board. When she finds leisure time, Eileen enjoys singing and in the summer, water skiing and family camping. With the family she has camped in the Smoky Mountains, Myrtle Beach, New England States, and as far south as Florida. Marywood host reading workshop Marywood College Development Reading and Study Skills Workshop in Nazareth Hall. Sponsored by Cluster D of the Act 101 Program, the workshop was presented by Dr. Thomas Scappaticci, director: of the counseling center at King’s College and reading consultant for the Act 101 Program. He received a master of arts degree in counseling: College, and his Ph.D. in leading from Lehigh Iniversity. She hopes to go to All-Eastern Chorus in Atlantic City during the early part of 1979. Eileen likes Lake- Lehman because it is a small school and every- body is close. When any of the sports programs have something special, every- one supports it, both “students and faculty. She would like to see more. persons involved in extracurricular activities other than sports such as drama clubs and similar = groups.
