Provincial Ad-
ministrator, Sr. Jane
Frances Kennedy, RSM,
has announced that the
Thirteenth = Provincial
Chapter of the Sisters of
Mercy will convene Aug.
13-18 at Mount Aloysius
Junior College, Cresson.
According to Sr. Jane
Frances, the five-day
assembly will be a time of
dialogue and prayer, a
celebration of the Mercy
community and a time for
dreaming future.
Concurrent small group
discussions will feature
types of ministry, issues in
religious life and province,
church and world con-
cerns. Dallas residents
who will serve: as
facilitators and leaders for
small group presentations
include Srs. Carolyn
and Jean Messaros of
College Misericordia; Srs.
Maureen McCann and

God?” will be the sermon
in the 11:15 a.m.
Sunday morning worship
service of the American
Presbyterian Church. The
sermon at the 7 p.m.
evening worship service
will be “God is Infinite”.
The pastor, Rev. R.F.
Dymond, invites the public
to attend the American
Presbyterian Church
services that are held at
the Shoemaker Chapel,
located on West Eighth
Street in West Wyoming.
At 7 p.m. each Wed-
nesday the prayer service
is held. For additional

Trinity Nursery School
will open its doors for the
eighth year on Tuesday
Sept. 5. The school is
located at the Trinity
United Presbyterian
Church, Church Street,
Dallas.
Programs in Early
Childhood Education are
being offered for 3, 4 and 5
year olds.
The school offers a
variety of creative ac-
tivities with material of all
kinds always encouraging
the efforts of the in-
dividual.
The child enjoys rhyth-
ms, songs, games,
fingerplays, stories, and
dramatizations, also free
play with small toys,
blocks, puzzles, and toys
that teach.
Outdoor play gives the
child an opportunity for
muscle development.
Field trips which include
the fire hall, library, farm ,
Children’s Museum are
included throughout the
year.
Plans are being for-
mulated for an open house
and orientation on Aug. 30
from 10 a.m. until noon.
Staff will be on hand to
welcome visitors and
answer questions.
Any parent is welcome to
enroll their child in the

The Altar and Rosary
Society of Our Lady of
Lake, will meet Thursday,
Aug. 10, 8 p.m., at the
Parish House, Warden
Place.
Plans will be finalized
for the dinner and theatre

Sunday, Aug. 20. The bus

of Harveys Lake.

United Methodist Church,
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church

Episcopal Church will join
forces again this year on
Aug. 14 through Aug. 18
from 9:15 to noon.
‘Hosanna, God’s people
Praise Him” is the theme
of the week-long school.
Teachers and children
from Nursery age through
grade six will be exploring
all the different ways we
celebrate the presence of
God and experience
worship.
A Hosanna Festival
Center will be established
as a worship resource for
the whole school where
classes can learn and offer
their creativity throughout
the week. The center will
become the focus of a
celebration on Friday
evening when parents will
be invited to join their
children for a Hosanna
festival.
Anyone interested in

Vacation Church School

coordinators, Liz Green-
wood, Prince of Peace;
Mrs. Richard Ayles,
Shavertown Methodist
Church, or Mrs. Pat Kern,
St. Paul’s Church.
Trucksville U.M. Church
is planning a week of
Vacation Church School,
August 14-18. Sessions will
be held every morning 9:30
-11:30 a.m. with classes for
four year olds through sixth
grade.
Following a short wor-
ship service, daily
programs will ‘include
crafts, games and stories
with special musical ac-
tivities under the direction
of Barbara Johnson. An
open house will be held at
11:15 a.m. on Friday
August 18 for parents.
All children in the area
are invited to attend. hut to
help with the planning,
