Mrs. Celia Ellsworth was the matron of honor and bridesmaids were Janet Lamoreaux, Julia. Crispell, Elsie Nulton, Peggy Tough, Dorothy Baker, Noreen Major, and Louise Gladkowski. The Rev. Carl Brandon was soloist and Mrs. Reka Middleton, organist. Mrs. Tough is the former Vera Whitesell, daughter Oliver Whitesell of Leh- man. Tough is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. - Alexander Tough of Hayfield Farm, Lehman, children, Linda a May 1977 High School. Tough is employed as vice-president of operations at Blue Cross of Northeastern sylvania. The Tough family is vacationing at the seashore in Brigantine, N.J. Hewett, headmaster of the Perkiomen School, a 200- year-old private secondary school in Pennsburg, Pa., was the guest speaker at the Dallas Kiwanis Club. degree from Williams College and an MA degree from Wesleyan, talked about ‘independent education in general, and specifically the Perkiomen perspective. He showed the co-educational school’s newly developed slide show which will give those present an understanding of the many activities available to Perkiomen students on its 100 acre campus. A member of the Palm Schwenfelder Church, Hewett, also explained the unique relationship bet- ween the Schwenfelder Church and Perkiomen. Hewett is the president of the Boarding Schools Headmasters Association of the Mid-Atlantic States and is a retired com- mander in the U.S. Naval Reserve. The Back Mountain Coalition, a group of community service pr- oviders has met since February in order to identify the needs of child- ren and families in the Back Mountain area. The Coalition was organized by the Primary Prevention Program of the Luzerne- Wyoming county Mental Health-Mental Retardation Center. Eleven churches and agencies are repre- sented. The purpose of the Coali- tion is to identify concerns in the network of commun- ity services to children and families, and if necessary; stimulate the development of additional resources. Since February, the Coalition has identified a lack of information avail- able to Back Mountain residents about the ser- vices available to them. In order to amend this situa- tion various agencies that serve the Back Mountain Area will write a. news- paper article about the ser- vices they provide for this series of articles. The Coalition identified a second issue of concern as the necessity for the development of a mutual support system for youth workers. For this second issue, the Coalition has de- cided to identify and con- tact the various organiza- tions, churches or muni- cipalities which sponsor and conduct children and youth programs and to see what they define as needed supports for their youth Back Mountain organiza- tions in developing addi- tional needed supports for youth workers. The Coalition is divided into two subcommittees. The first subcommittee is concerned with increasing the awareness of and ac- cessibility to community services. Members include the Rev. Bolger Kathleen Bolger will attend the 1977 Biennial Kappa Epsilon Convention at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., from July 31 to Aug. 3.
