EIPPER WINS--Dallas lost to the Some 130 long-distance runners from throughout the East have registered for the Back Mountain Second Annual Bicentennial Run to be held June 5. According to organizer Tim Bauman, runners from as far away as Syracuse have registered for the run and will be ages, he noted, and is so designed that each runner competes with others in the same category. There is an open champions award for the first runner to complete the 10.3 mile course, awards for up to tenth place, and special awards for older runners. The run will begin on the College Misericordia campus at 11 Sunday morning and will continue in and around’ Dallas through a specially marked course, There are traffic control personnel and aid stations throughout the course, Bauman said. Last year Ray Krombel from G.A.R. High School completed the course in 53 minutes, 58 seconds. His high school also won the team trophy for the day. The race is beginning to attract national attention, Bauman said, and hopefully will become one of the major Eastern races. Andy Pinter, 135-pound varsity wrestler, took the United States World Federation Regional II National title the weekend of May 7. The tournament was at Behrend College, Erie with champions from eight states competing. Pinter wrestled five times at Erie, having only three points scored against him. In his first bout he defeated M. Ross of Maryland, 5-2. He took his second bout 15-1 from Mike Corbett of Ohio and his third bout from Richard Bosley, Md., pinning him in 1:15. In the semi-finals he defeated Milton Maxwell of Sharon, Pa. 2-0, then went on to take the title by defeating Terry Green of. Virginia 10-0. Pinter was division championship at Bedford High School to qualify for the state title at Clarion where he won 3-0. The young wrestler also competed in the AAU tournaments where he took his weight class title in districts 4-0; in the regionals 3-0 and in the states 3-0. in the AAU Freestyle Districts at Dallas and will advance to the nationals at Upper Marion. Pinter also placed first in a Berwick Tournament by winning 5-0 in the finals. Wrestling with the senior varsity team this past in District II competition, placed third in _ the second in the Lock Haven tournament. His record for the year is 47-8.
