Nineteen seniors will be
presenting their last band
concert as members of the
Lake-Lehman band on
April 21, 22 and 23. The
program will begin at 8
p.m. in the high school
auditorium with several
selections by the school’s
cadet band.
The senior band will
follow with a concert
featuring classical and
modern music and several
patriotic selections.
Thursday night will be a
premiere performance
with only a limited number
of tickets available. The
other two performances
will be on a general
tickets available from any
band member or at the
door.
The band is ‘directed by
John Miliauskas, assisted
by Jonathon Pineno.

At the April meeting of
the Dallas Band Parents
Association a discussion
was held on the spring
concert on March 31 at
which time Mark Johnson,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin
Johnson, was chosen as the
outstanding band member
for this year. The ‘‘out-
standing band member” is
picked each year by Lester
Lewis, band director, and
is unknown to anyone else
until the night of the
concert.
He was presented with a
divisions must
plaque by Louis Butera,
president of the
organization. His name
was also put on the school
plaque. Mark ° made
district, regional and state
bands this year.
Mrs. Patrick McGough,
chairman of the recent
bake sale, thanked
everyone who helped by
working at the sale and all
those who baked. The sale
was very successful. A
planned spaghetti supper
has been canceled and will
be held in the Fall.
Bulbs and strawberry
plants are being sold for
the benefit of the Band
Parents Association at the
Roat Hardware in
Kingston. Mrs. Marilyn
Pope, member of the
association, is in charge of
the project. Anyone
wishing to purchase these
plants, may see her at the
hardware store, or call her
at her home.
The next meeting will be
held on Tuesday, May 3 at
7:30 p.m. This is a change
of day of the week and it is

hoped that more people
will be able to attend the
meetings. At this meeting
the nominating committee
will present the slate of
officers for the coming
year.
Volack visits
Jerry Volack, a fresh-
man student at Delaware
Valley College of
Agriculture and Science,
spent the week end with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Volack, Orange.

Troop 281, Dallas, held
an Eagle Court of Honor on
April 14, in the Dallas
United Methodist Church
for Craig C. Stone, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Russell
Stone, 153 Lake St., Dallas.
The Court of Honor was
preceded by a banquet in
Stone’s honor.
The program began with
a flag ceremony. The honor
guard was composed of
Nick Stull, Walter Geffert,
Edward Lyons, and John
Lemmond. The Pledge of
Allegiance to the flag was
led by Ben Willett.
The invocation and
benediction was given by
the Rev. Douglas Akers,
pastor of Dallas United
Methodist Church.
Bruce Davies acted as
master of ceremonies. He
is the assistant scout
master of Troop 281.
A review of the future
activities and plans of
Troop 281 for the year 1977
was presented by Robert
Schooley, scout master of
Troop 281. He also
presented advancement
pins to the following
scouts: Craig Stone, 6
years; Craig Duffield, 5
years; William Lewis, 5
years; Stephen Schwartz,
4 years; Ben Willett, 4
years; Jay .Chappel, 3
years; John Lyons, 3
years; Michael Schwartz,
3 years; Nick Stull, 3
years; Walter Geffert, 2
years, and John Lemmond,
1 year.
Merit = badges were
presented to the following
scouts by John Lyons,
troop committeeman:
Craig Duffield, Auto
Safety, Personal Fitness;
Walter Geffert, Personal
Management, Public
Health; William Lewis,
Environmental Science;
Michael Schwartz, (1)
Camping.
A special award of ap-
preciation for the many
services which he had
rendered to Troop 281 as
scoutmaster was presented
to Richard Willett by Craig
Stone, representative for
Troop 281 scout members.
The charges to the Eagle
candidate, Craig Stone,
were then presented. The
charge from the church
was given by Rev. Akers.
The charge from the School
was presented by Edgar
Hughes, Jr., assistant
principal of Dallas Senior
High School. The charge
from the community was
given by Attorney Charles
Lemmond, Jr. The charge
from scouting was
presented by John Juris,
former scoutmaster of
Troop 281.
The parent ceremony
was conducted by Hal
Sherman, committeeman
for Troop 281 at which time
the Eagle Scout Award
presentation was made to
Stone by Sherman. In turn,
Eagle Scout Craig Stone
presented an Eagle pin to
his mother, and an Eagle
tie clasp to his father.
Eagle Scout Stone then
addressed the audience
with a few brief ob-
servations. He stated that
scouting had laid a firm
foundation for him to build
his future and that he
wanted to remain actively
associated with scouting
during the years ahead so
that he might repay those
who have done so much for
him in scouting.
The Scout Law and Scout
Oath ceremony was con-
ducted by Jay Chappel and
Mike Schwartz.
The dinner was catered
by Regency Caterers and
was planned and arranged
by Robert Schooley.
Decorations for the affair
were ‘handled
magnificently by Mrs.
Nancy McDonald assisted
by Mrs. Jane Stull, and
Mrs. Mary Chappel.
Craig C. Stone started his
scouting career as a Cub
Scout with Pack 131,
Chambersburg, Pa. in 1968.
281 after moving to Dallas
in 1969. He progressed
from Webelo to Boy Scout
in 1970.
He participated in Little
League Baseball in Dallas
and was active in track,
football, and basketball in
Dallas Junior High School.
He received three NEDT
Certificates of Merit;
participated in Teener
Baseball; was a member of
the Dallas High School
Chess Club; received
letters (for participating in
golf and basketball at
Dallas High School 1975-77.
He is 'a member of the
Dallas High Track team at
the present time and will
graduate from Dallas High
enrolled at West Chester
State College for the Fall of
1977.
Stone has been active in
the Dallas area in events
such as the Bike-A-Thon
for the Mentally Retarded
in 1974-75; Walk-A-Thon
for the March of Dimes
1974-75; assisted during
the Great 1972 Flood
disaster; has helped at
Back Mountain Library
Auction 1970 through 1973.
He participated in Troop
281 sponsored clean-up and
paper drives;
Dallas Fall Fair sponsored -
by the service clubs of the -
Back Mountain each year. =

The Dallas Senior High
School Mixed Chorus will
present their annual Spring
Concert on Thursday, May
5th, and Friday, May 6th,
in the senior high school
auditorium.
The theme of this years
concert is ‘Hats Off To
Broadway.” It will feature
musical selections from
various well-known Broad-
way Productions such as
The Sound of Music, Funny
Girl, Godspell, The Wizard
of Oz, Oliver and Hair.
The format of this years
concert will be slightly
different than those of the
past. Various skits, cos-
tumes, and props will be
used as well as extensive
choreography on most of
the numbers. It is hoped
that this will compliment
all the songs while also
making the concert very
entertaining.
Tickets may be pur-
chased from any chorus
member or at the door. The
concert will begin both
nights at 8 p.m.
