It noted that there was some problems with the 70 per- cent - 30 percent formula split which allowed small municipalities with. unem- ployment between 6.5 per- cent and the national aver- F HA rural housing loans guaranteed The Farmers Home Administration has begun a program through which it will guarantee rural housing loans made by commercial banks, savings and loan associations, and other private lenders, Harvey M. Gipe, Jr., FmHA county supervisor for Lackawanna, Luzerne and Wyoming Counties an- nounced. FmHA, the rural credit agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will guarantee up to 90 percent of the prin- cipal and interest of these loans. Guaranteed housing loans will be available for moderate income borrowers who cannot get housing mortgage credit without a guarantee. Applicants who cannot qualify for guaranteed loans may apply for loans made by FmHA.
