activities. There were
programs for everyone
from the Back Mountain
Wrestling Club’s tiny tots
matches to bowling and ice
skating for men and
women, boys and girls of
all ages.
1976 was the year the
seventh grade basketball
program was organized in
the Dallas Schools, a
program coordinated and
coached by volunteers and
one that proved highly
successful. Ice skating, ice
and boating were among
the many activities seldom
publicized but enjoyed by
many area residents.

school, college, and
community sports
programs as reviewed in
this article.

Basketball Conference for
both girls and boys high
school teams.
The Lake-Lehman
Knights dropped their
opening game to Hanover
while the Lady Knights
took control of the ball to
defeat Hanover girls.
In the mat circles,
Lewisburg got by the
Dallas matmen in a close
27-24 match which was see-
saw all the way. Coach
Chip Sorber’s grapplers
overcame GAR to knock
them out of the lead in
Division II.
Brian Sickler, Dallas
quarterback, was named to
the Big 33 squad which
Stars in August.
Dallas cagers lost their
first two games in the
opening of the season. The
cagers came back to win
their next two games
against West Side Tech and
Lake-Lehman.
The Knights continued to
lose and were 0-4 going into
the game with St. John’s
which they dropped 60-52.
The Knights wrestlers
lost to Hanover to put their
league record at 1-3, 2-3 in
overall competition.
The Mountaineers hopes
for a mat title faded when
they were defeated 38-8 by
Meyers.
The . Dallas matmen
continued to win going into
February for a 6-3 record.
Wyoming Seminary
Alumni Association an-
nounced that they would
host tennis pros Stan Smith
and Harold Solomon for an
exhibition match, April 3.
The ice fishermen could
be spotted on Harveys
Lake as they set up their
stools or chairs to wait for
a nibble through the ice.

The Western Horsemen's
Club held its first an-
niversary party at the
home of. Clyde and
Charlotte Tonkin.
Bowling continued as
usual at Crown Imperial
Lanes with young and old
joining the afternoon and
evening leagues.
The Mountaineers
trounced West Side Tech
and Lake-Lehman to move
into a second place tie in
the basketball league.
The Valley West Spar-
tans nipped the Knights
wrestlers 31-22.
Neil Cross, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Richard R. Cross,
Haddonfield Hills, member
of Lafayette College track
and field team, qualified
for the IC4A cham-
pionships at Princeton
March 6 and 7.
Bud Hennebaul, two time
District II junior high
champ may have -the op-
portunity to become a
three time champ at the
junior high districts, Feb.

In the early part of
March, the Sweet Valley
Snowmobile Club planned
a trip to either Coudersport
or Black Forest for the first
weekend of the month.

to try for a state title after
this year’s entrants lost in
the opening rounds in their
bid for a title in the PIAA
state tourney at University
Park.

Booster Club, April 7, for
all Dallas athletes.
