During the Bicentennial
Festival held in June a
survey was conducted by
the club in order to find out
what the people of this area
important problems facing
the growing Back Moun-
tain community.
The results of the survey
showed them to be in the
order of importance:
1. Recreation
2. Hospital
3. Reducing the school
budget without reducing,
the programs
4. Road Conditions
5. Water services
6. Sewer services
Other problems men-
tioned were the Cross
Valley Expressway,
apathy in the community,
and beautification of
Dallas Center. ‘‘Recrea-
tion, Yesterday, Today and
Tomorrow’ was selected
as the most pressing
problem and the one to be
discussed at the first town
meeting, at 2 p.m. in the
Dallas Junior High School.
