represent the Dallas Senior
High School at the Rotary
Club Leadership Camp
held at Keystone Junior
College, LaPlume, June 20-
25.
Each year two
sophomore Dallas Senior
High School boys who have
displayed outstanding
scholastic and leadership
qualities are chosen.
William Fleming, an
honor student with a
perfect 4.0 average, has
won four NEDT Merit
Certificates, is an officer in
Key Club, active in the
Commissioner of
Correction William B.
Robinson today announced
the appointment of Joseph
M. Ryan, Jr., of Forty
Fort, as deputy superin-
tendent for operations at
the State Correctional
Institution at Dallas, ef-
fective May 27, 1976.
He replaces Gerald
Lightcap, who was
chorus and is a member of
Choristers and Jesters.
Corey Kirshner, a ‘First
Honors’’ student, is
president of the sophomore
class and a member of the
cross country team and the
wrestling team. He is also
a member of the Dallas
High School Betterment

institution as a correc-
tional officer when it was
opened in 1960, has served
as major of the guard since
October 1972. He will earn
an annual salary of $21,320
in his new position.

of R.D. 2, Mt. View Drive,
Dallas, recently attended a
one-day continuing
professional education
program on ‘‘Subchapter S
Corporations’’ ‘on May 20,
at the Treadway Inn,
Wilkes-Barre.
Sponsored by the Nor-
theastern Chapter of the
Pennsylvania Institute of
Certified Public Ac-
countants, this course was
designed to enable the
practitioner to advise
clients as to whether Sub-
chapter S status should be
elected, the was it is
maintained, and the tax
consequences to the cor-
poration and shareholders.

Parente Randolph & Co.
Volunteer aides of the
Dallas Elementary School
were guests of the teachers
and Parent Teachers
organization at a-banquet
held last week at the Castle
Inn.
The dinner, given in
appreciation for help that
the volunteers have given
to teachers and students,
was arranged by Mary Lou
Swingle, volunteer aide
coordinator of the Dallas
Elementary School.

The Harold and Mollie
Cruikshank Award went to
Mark Charles Sherman,
Dallas. It yearly goes to
the student in the top of the
class voted the one who has
done the most for the
school by his (or her)
service and character.
The name of Hilary Gail
Maslow, Shavertown, will
be engraved on the school’s
team cup, as she won the
Team Cup Award for her
co-leadership of the win-
ning Day School team, the
Blue.
The Wyoming Seminary
intermediate department
assigns an equal number of
all pupils to either the Blue
or the White teams, which
engage in various
scholastic and athletic
competitions throughout
the school year.
The Marjorie Harvey
Joan Nelson ,daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. N.E. Nelson,
New Goss Manor, recently
graduated from University
of Scranton with her
masters degree in
elementary education.
Miss Nelson is a
graduate of Dallas Senior
High School, Kutztown
State College and is
presently employed by the
Dallas School District as a
teacher in the second
grade.
Lake-Lehman reading
and math teachers will
conduct parent
conferences for Title 1
children on Monday, June
7. Parents will be notified
by memo from the school
district as to the time of
appointment.
This - parent-teacher
conference will allow
parents to discuss their
child’s progress during the
year. This will give the
