Knights
The GAR Grenadiers ran
their undefeated record to
3-0 last week and remained
tied with the Dallas track-
men by trouncing the Lake-
Lehman Knights 110-40. It
was the Knights’ first loss
of the 1975 track season.
The city cindermen took
first place in all but three
events with Krombel
continuing to win in the
mile and two mile run.
Tony Bogdon was the
only ble winner for the
Knigh®S¥ picking up firsts
in the triple and high
jumps.
Other double winners
were the Grenadiers’
Brown in the 100 and 220
yd. dashes and Suda’s wins
in the intermediate hurdles
and javelin.

bat collecting three hits in
three times up, scoring
twice and knocking in four
runs. Greg Steele drove a
double to left field in the
third inning to send home
three runs. Gary Zumchak
knocked out a double to
centerfield in the fourth
when Skammer drew a
free ticket to first. Earl
Harris singled to right and
Zumchak scored. Gregg
Steele drove a long double
to centerfield, driving in
Skammer and Harris
before the side was retired
when Jim Searfoss struck
out and Walsh popped out
to third.
The Johnnies picked up
their lone run in the top
half of the second on a
double by Limongelli to the
outfield and a single by

run in their half of the

win opener
The Shavertown Red Sox
nipped the Shavertown
Orioles 13-12 in the opening
day game of the Little
League season.
Mike Dent garnered the
win for the Red Sox with a
superb pitching per-
formance fanning 17
batters. Joe Gomba and
Nick Zapoticky paced the
Red Sox attack with two
hits apiece.
Zapoticky slugged two
doubles and turned in a fine
fielding play at shortstop.
Gomba played a stellar
game behind the plate
aiding pitcher Dent in his
performance.
