Six residents of Dallas school district
communities have elected to run for the
RD 3," Wyoming, is a retired business
man. He is presently completing his
sixth year on the board. Last year he
served as president. During the past
year, he has attended 14 of the 15 board
meetings. He is from a family of
educators and in his retirement hopes
to be able to contribute to the progress
of the local school system. He feels his
business experience serves him well in
making decisions on the board.
Cutten has no children aatending
Dallas Schools but believes that in
many ways this can be beneficial since
there is no chance of public censure
because of family ties.
Dr. Alfred M. Camp, East 42nd St.,
RD 1, Dallas, is a former member of the
Dallas school district faculty. He is
seeking public office for the first time.
He is interested in every student
receiving optimum learning efficiency,
through proper selectivity, productivity
and accountability. He would strive for
cooperation and good relationship with
the administration, teachers .and
community.
Earl Fritzges, 206 Cliffside Ave.,
Trucksville, is a representative for Dun
& Bradstreet. He first ran for school
1971 he chose not to run for reelection.

board, the addition to Dallas Senior
High School was completed, the junior
Side Technical High School was
completed. He was chairman of the
board for two years and chairman of
the West Side Tech Board for two years
as Dallas representative. Fritzges has
four children in the Dallas Schools, a
son who will graduate this year; twins,
a son and daughter, in 11th grade; and a
daughter in 10th.
Richard D. Hislop, RD 3, Orange, is a
tool and die maker with Diamond Mfg.
Co. He is married to the former Joyce
Oliver of Dallas:
He is running for the first time but his
father, Donald Hislop was a member of
the Dallas School Bistrict Borad when
the senior high school was built. Hislop
follows both community and school
activities with keen interest and feels
that the younger generation should
have representation on the board. He is
running to fill the seat left vacant by
Fred Dymond’ Franklin Township
representative.
With three children in the Dallas
Schools he had a keen interest in the
son in Dallas Township Elementary
School.
Shavertown, is a lithographer. He is
running for public office for the first
time.
He has lived in the Back Mountain for
seven years and is the father of three
children. He feels he would like to have
a voice in community affairs and
follows school activities. With children
in school, he would like to have a part in
the board’s decision-making and with
the economic situation today, would
like to have a part in budgeting
education money.
Umphred has a son in fourth grade,
one in the Dallas Intermediate, and a
son whil will enter kindergarten in
September.
