The Lake-Lehman Knights
produced tow of the three
District II champs in the
Class B Regional Tour-
nament last Saturday at
Steve
Klemunes, 112 lbs., and Doug
Agnew, 119 1b. brought home
the titles for the Back
Mountain School. Hanover’s
Tom Pape, 95 lb., brought his
weight class crown home to
the Hawkeyes.
Crestwood’s Bob Gaetano
lost a heart breaker when he
was turned over by Camp-
bell, Selingsgrove in 5:31 for
his first loss in 23 bouts.
The Knights Jack Zaleskas
lost a 7-3 decision in the semi-
finals to Athens Doug
Rhodes, then came back in
the consolations to take third
place in the Regionals, as did
West Side "Tech’s Mike
Petroski. Neither one needed
the win to go to States at
Penn State this weekend,
however as the first four
wrestlers in each weight
class advance in the finals
which begin Friday night.
In the prelimanaries last
Friday night, Steve:
Klemunes decisioned Ray
Harmon, LT, 15-1. Doug
Agnew, last year’s regional
runner up, won on a forfeit,
and Jack Zaleskas, 126 lb.,
outwrestled Dan Wood,
Montoursville, 7-3. Mike
Petroski, 105 1b., WST,
moved to the semi-finals by
taking a 4-2 decision’ from
Jim Alteri, LT. Five Hanover
grapplers moved into the
semi-finals on Saturday
afternoon.
Saturday afternoon, Pape,
H, moved ahead by
decisioning Dave Kyle,
Wallenpaupack, 3-0, then
went in front in the finals by
taking Mark Bennett,
Athens, 6-0.
Bob Gaetano, CR, went
against Mike Petroski, WST,
and with a.4-4 count at the
end of three, the bout went
into overtime. Gaetano
clamped Petroski in 23
seconds of the thirs overtime
period. - In the finals,
Saturday aight, the match
was a close 5-4 when Jim
Campbell, Selinsgrove, took
eam photo which
Daring’s Market for second
spot by taking 3 points from
Plymouth National Bank.
Daring’s Market copped 3
points from last place Castle
Inn.

Gaetano in a surprise move
and pinned him in 5:31.
Steve Klemunes used a
takedown and a reversal
against Rex Lutz, Mon-
toursville, who had two
escapes, to give Klemunes
the bout 4-2.
In the finals Klemunes met
Jeff Wagner, Mifflinburg,
and took the bout’ by a
decisive 10-4 score.
Bloomsburg, in 2:47 in the
afternoon- to advance to the
evening finals. He and Jim
Leitzel engaged in a touch-
in front by two on a
takedown, Leitzel reversed,
then Agnew countered with a
reversal. Again Leitzel
reversed and picked up 3
more points on a near fall. In
the second period, Agnew
reversed Leitzel, Leitzel
followed suit, then Agnew
reversed Leitzel once more.
With the score 9-8, Leitzel.
going into the third period,
Leitzel escaped for one;
Agnew took him down for two
but Leitzel escaped again.

Zaleskas lost on a 7-3
decision ' by Rhodes of
Athens. In the consolation
bout, he decisioned Larry
Means, Lewisburg, 1-0, to
take third place.
Doug Agnew held his un-
defeated record for the
season coming home with a
17-0 record. Bob Gaetano had
a 22-0 record for the season
until he was stopped by
Campbell.
Eleven wrestlers from
District IT will enter the State
Finals this weekend, three
from Lake-Lehman; one
from Crestwood; one from
West Side Tech; and six from
Hanover.
Cub Pack 155 of
Trucksville held its Blue and
Gold Dinner on Feb. 21st at
Trucksville United
Methodist Church
Educational Building.
The invocation was given
by Rev. John Topolewski.
The opening was conducted
by Den 4 with a flag
ceremony.

Executive for Penn Moun-
tains Council BSA.
Albrecht spoke on the
significance of Cub Pack 155
observing its 25th an-
niversary, stating it was also
his 25th year in scouting.
In honor of the 25th an-
niversary each scout was
awarded a silver bar to be
placed on their uniform.
The 25th year charter was
presented to the Trucksville
United Methodist Church,
sponsor of Cub Pack 155. The
charter was received by the
Rev. John Topolewski pastor
of the church.
