family of Howard Street has. A
cousin of theirs, Brad Davis, is
one of the stars of the new T.V.
soap opera “How to Survive a
Marriage.” Brad plays Alex
Kronos in the series. You can be
sure the Wallaces are tuned in
everyday at 3:30.

teer Fire Co. parade July 21.

Happy Anniversary to my
parents, Bill and Mary Motyka,
Oak Hill, Dallas, who cele-
brated their 28th wedding an-
niversary July 20. They were
married in St. Anthony’s
Church, Larksville. My mother
is the former Mary Fertal,
daughter of Anna Fertal,
Franklin Street, Larksville, and
the late Joseph Fertal. My
father is the son of the late Felix
and Margaret Motyka, Sixth
Street, Larksville.
Judy Wallace, who is at home
recuperating from surgery,
hosted a pajama party Monday.
Enjoying a night of fun, food
and games were Michele
Fisher, Brenda Bobeck, Mich-
ele Wallace, Sharon Mihalchik
and the hostess.
Deborah = Rutkowski and
Richard Vaverka were the re-
cipients of the Wyoming Valley
West High School Band Parents
Association award for good
band citizenship. Deborah was
a member of the band for six
years and also on the school
newspaper staff. Richard also
was a six year band member
and was in the school chorus.
As part of the special activ-
ities scheduled for the Wyoming
Valley West School District
summer playground program,
a stuffed animal show was held
at St. John’s Parkway, Nesbitt
Street, Larksville. Judges were
Morales; “Robert
Brandon, and Robert’ McDon-
ough. Robert Magalski is a
Wyoming Valley West play-
ground supervisor.

was instructed to set up a meet-
ing between the Kingston Town-
ship supervisors, Swoyersville
Borough Council and their soli-
citor, and DAMA to discuss the
possibility of Marcytown resi-
dents being hooked up to the
Swoyersville sewerage system.
David Stevens, representing
the Robert Laux Agency, re-
quested information about the
time schedule for Sewer Exten-
sion Plan One, and approval xor
a 23-acre development on
Machell Avenue, Dallas.
Mr. Stevens was told that the
number 79, and it is hoped that
construction will’ be complete
by the spring of 1977. He was
of the proposed development to
DAMA for approval with provi-
sions to hook up to the extension
in the future.
Three bids were opened for
lateral and construction work
for DAMA from American As-
phalt, H. Delong, and Hoover
and Milbrodt. The bids were
tabled and will be discussed at a
special meeting in the near fu-
ture.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at an adjourned meeting of
the Dallas School District Board of Directors held June 28, 1974, a
resolution was adopted approving the budget for the school year
1974-75, which sets forth therein expenditures in the total amount of
$4,513,906.00, based on a tax levy of 62 mills per dollar ($6.20 per
hundred dollars of assessed valuation on real estate); a per capita
tax of $5.00 per taxable person, under authority of Section 679 of the
Pennsylvania School Laws of 1949 and its amend-
ments, and a reenactment of a per capita tax of $5.00 per
taxable person, under authority of Act 511 of Decem-
ber 31, 1965; a revision of Act 481 of June 25, 1947, without
substantial change, making a total of per capita taxes
of $10.00 to be levied and collected from each taxable person; in
addition an earned income tax on wages, salaries, commissions,
and other earned income of individuals at a rate of 1 percent, under
authority of Act511 of December 31, 1965, and a Real Estate Trans-
fer Tax of 1 percent, shared 50-50 with the municipalities of the Dis-
trict, also under the authority of Act 511 of December 31, 1965. Said
taxes are necessary for general revenue purposes to pay the salar-
ies of the employees as prescribed in the salary schedules of the
District and to meet the current expenses of the Dallas School Dis-
trict. A budget summary follows:
